Do not take this cab company, I was ripped off by Super Cab Driver company on a fare from my residence in Lake Worth to West Palm Beach Airport (PBI). A twenty minute taxi ride I have taken often enough to know the average cost is anywhere from $26 to a high of $35. from where I live to (PBI) airport. I called and spoke to the owner of Super Cab Driver and was quoted $40. for the one way trip to (PBI) airport. Knowing this was a high price quote I didn't want to waste my time calling around to other taxi cab companies in the surrounding area. I accepted the fee. \r \r About twenty minutes later a guy speaking with a heavy (Haitian) accent I barely understood said his name is Joseph and that he was from Super Cab Driver and was going to be my driver the following day. Challenging, I was speaking english as clearly as possible yet It took a while for him to understand me and get my correct address and the time for me to be picked up. I asked for his cell phone number only to call him a few hours prior to scheduled pickup just to make sure he would be there on time. \r \r The following day I called Joseph's cell phone number, he arrived on time. His meter was on and running. Off to the airport we went. I gave him the quickest route directions to the airport and one that I have taken many times by other taxi cab companies. On the way to the airport he was driving slowly in little traffic. I told him to speed up not exceeding the speed limit. Half way there the meter was unusually high, I kept an eye on it. Now within a few minutes to (PBI) airport the meter was now in the low $60 range. I voiced my complaint reminding him I was told the fare would only be $40 for the trip. I was informed by Joseph the fare is higher than what I was told because his insurance is high. He talked about accidental injury insurance costs and in general all other insurance costs. I told him that's not my problem, it's your cost to do business no different than any other taxi cab company's insurance costs. I told him I'm not paying any higher than the $40 price that I was given by the owner of Super Cab Driver the day before. Again, he was ranting on and on about insurance costs. I knew then I was being totally ripped off. \r \r By the time he arrived and parked to drop me off at (PBI) airport the meter was now at an astonishing $65.20 At that price I could have been picked up by a brand new stretch limo. I argued, complained but it was to late for that as my flight was nearing boarding time. I asked him for a receipt of which he wrote it down on the reverse side of his business card where the front side was a different company name; Freedom Cab & Limo Airport Service. Delray Beach. Cause for more suspicion! \r \r Not having an ID Badge and a receipt written down on a card with a different company name I told him that this was, unacceptable and unprofessional, and would be reporting this incident. I paid cash the high price on the meter not leaving a tip! He then drove away but not before I took some photo's of the taxi cab including the meter with the cost of this fare.\r \r My advice to all in need of ever taking a taxi - STAY FAR AWAY FROM SUPER CAB DIVER Located at 4932 NW 5th St\r Delray Beach, FL 33445\r \r ZEROS STARS\r \r FYI - Every person who drives a taxi cab, limousine, shuttle, jitney or para-transit vehicle for hire in Palm Beach County is required to conspicuously display a badge while working. This badge shows passengers who the driver is and means the driver has passed both a criminal and driving background check. Passengers have a right to examine the I.D. Badge. more
