My first lesson was in April of 2009. I needed to learn the art of dance to fulfill my duties as Best Man at my best friend's wedding. Being a shy gentleman, however, I found the idea of group lessons intimidating. I needed private lessons and that is how I came upon Fred Astaire East. I was very nervous on my first lesson, but Gala was such a friendly and patient teacher that I couldn't help but have fun. I found that not only could I dance, but that I loved it. After the first lesson I knew it was a perfect fit.
