I came here because of citysearch, and because I wanted to try something a little different than italian or Mexican and this was the right choice! Very high quality food- I would say 5 star quality without the 5 star price. I usually go to Carnival in Sherman Oaks because it is more well known, but I think this place definitely tops it! the cooking is more soulful and the prices are better because it is more of an intimate setting so you get more of a personal experience. It is a small restaurant-seats a little less than 30 people and it is within a small center- but by no means would I classify this place as a ""hole-in-the-wall"" establishment. Hole-in-the-wall places usually make me think of some place dark and small and not very nice- but this place is very warm, cozy, clean, and well taken care of with very lovely art deco on the walls.
Plus, the chef is very nice and the waitress was very quiet and sweet and checked up on us frequently to make sure we were doing okay, so it was a very good dining experience. I will definitely come back and bring some friends in the future. Reccomend!
