What an incredible experience. Right from the start I knew I was in the correct place to purchase my now-fiance's engagement ring. After shopping endlessly at mall and chain jewelry stores, I decided to head to Jewelers Row. At the mall it was poor-quality diamond after poor-quality diamond, for really high prices. At Barsky it was very high quality diamond for an absolutely incredible price.
Nate Barsky knew exactly what I wanted once I described it. He brought me three settings, all of them matching my description! What a difference from salespeople the the malls who want to sell you something you did not ask for. Nate stayed right in my price range. Even though my budget was tight, I was treated with respect. After showing me exactly what I wanted, Nate suggested we walk around, have lunch, check out other places, before making a decision. I really felt good about it, but decided to check out Steven Singer. Well, it's true, I Hate Steven singer. Quality was lousy and prices were high. And, they were salespeople - didn't listen to what i wanted at all. The salesman face obviously dropped when I told him my price range. After spending some time at Steven Singer ( wasted time), we immediately went back to Barsky. Nate still had my setting and diamond in his front shirt pocket! He knew we were coming back. From there his father finished the sale.
Mr. Barsky was a knowledgeable man with an obvious expertise. He treated my like a person, asking about my now-fiance (how long we have been together, her name, where I was going to propose, etc...). He even offered to appraise some of my dad's gold jewelery for him for no cost.
The ring was absolutely gorgeous and my fiance loves it! The center diamond was of a clarity and cut I never thought I could afford - and it was GIA certified!
To top it off, they were awesome enough to set and size the ring right there so I wouldn't have to make a trip back to pick it up. This is where I will be buying all of my jewelery from now on. By treating a young person on a budget with respect, Barsky has gained a customer for life.
