I was excited for the place to open. I am from San Jose, California where Mexican food is ALL THAT. This place is nice inside, although the structure is a bit confusing. It seems a bit disorganized, but they are new so that's okay. It was packed which was wonderful for them, but there was no seating area for waiting customers. My family was seated by the bar at the back door. The staff had to use the back door constantly. It was cold out, so every time the door opened, we got a gust of cold air. NOT OK. Someone finally took our order after about 30 minutes. It took two hours for it to arrive. My kids fell asleep at the table. The bartender offered his apologies and a free margarita for my boyfriend and I. The food finally came and the order was wrong. When the order came back correct, we were disappointed. There was no flavor in any of the dishes. The presentation was not appealing.
I am hoping that this place is open to feedback and is willing to implement the necessary changes to make this a wonderful place to eat. It is soooo close to my house and I LOVE Mexican food!!!
I wish San Jose Mexican Restaurant the best of luck and I am confident that things will improve soon!
