The statue of the state of Texas on the side of the Lamar High School building was done by my grandfather and my father. My grandfather also restored the San Jose Mission in San Antonio and many others there. If you drive by there be sure to check it out. He also carved the statue of Jesus on the Cross located at the Manvel Cementary. It is beautiful. I understand he carved the statues that were located at the monkey cage at the Houston Zoo and have since been moved to the George R. Brown. If you are into Art these are something you should see and appreciate. Also check out the statues on Reesner St as he was suppose to have done those also. Just a little something for anyone who loves art.
