Worth a try for BBQ inside the Loop 7/13/2009

I visited last week and really enjoyed the evening. The chef/owner was our waiter and he was very enjoyable to chat with. My husband had the BBQ Sampler and was overwhelmed by the brisket. He only eats brisket at the County Line, so this was a huge surprise. The potato salad was below average. I had the pitboss chickwich which was a good dish overall. The onion strings were flavorless, but the coleslaw was surprisingly good. The BBQ sauce was very tasty, although I did find a couple of bones in my shredded chicken. The fried egg on top was a genius idea and really made the dish pop. We'll be back for the brisket and to try the queso, which I hear is quite good. Be prepared for a hefty bill, but that is part of the inner loop life! ***UPDATE***I've been back a few times and the menu is just to eclectic. I understand creativity, but the combinations just do not please my palate. For the price, I can find better in this neighborhood. Pros: Brisket satisified my extremely picky husband, large portion Cons: Pricy for a weeknight meal; no draught beers more
