Church of the Resurrection 9/9/2008

Church of the Resurrection is a community of over 1800 Roman Catholic families who truly care about one another and about others in the world. It is, in many ways, a ""bottom up"" group, and our pastor (Fr. Jerry Rodenfels) is a genius at delegating responsibilities. The members are far more interested in cooperation than in competition, and this is reflected in every aspect of parish life. I was a Methodist for 63 years before converting to Catholicism in 2006, and Church of the Resurrection is to me a dream come true. Every Sunday, parishioners take communion to persons living in nursing facilities and to those at home who are unable to attend Mass. We engage in many outreach activities throughout the year, helping those who are in need with donations of time, clothing, household goods and financial assistance. And we have scripture-study groups that meet throughout the year. Plus all of the other things that you'd expect from a Catholic church: Knights of Columbus, women's group, Kairos ministry, religious education for children, etc.... Church of the Resurrection, at least as I experience it, is truly the body of Christ. Pros: inclusiveness, friendliness, sincerity more
