I went to Amber last night with a few of my girlfriends and was quite impressed. Very pretty ambiance and super comfortable seats - it is a small place so it's a bit squished but hey, it's new york - we are all used to that. I hate places where you have to ask for water, and you do here but overall that didn't matter. I had the indian pancakes with a curry dipping sauce (a random choice for japanese, i know) but it was awesome and then i had some crunchy, spicy tuna (excellent tuna) and also tried the spicy tuna and avacado salad (excellent) and the shrimp padthai (also delicious). Very affordable - regular rolls ranging 4 to 7 bucks; special rolls between 12 and 17 bucks and padthai around 15 bucks.
