First off... I am a nurse in the operating room at NYU and even years after he left Dr.Andrew Klapper is still a legend here. He was considered one of the best hands to come through that program in decades. I have seen him operate firsthand and it's pretty amazing. I saw the advertisement in the paper went in to see what it was all about and nearly fell off the exam table when he walked in. Unlike every great surgeon in the city who is full of himself Dr.K is a humble down to earth guy who consistently does amazing work. Now about my surgery: It was a professional and well executed experience. I met his assistant Audrey who was amazing and his office manager Debbi who is the best and was walked through every step of the procedure with my hand held. I had liposuction of my abdomen and flanks and I have to ask you how many doctors are cool enough to talk to me in terms of too much ""Ben and Jerry's"" here and there? I just love that guy. My surgery was performed with sedation and full monitoring and as an OR nurse my threshold for levels of safety is very high. I went to see two other doctors in the city one a dermatologist and one who I found out only when I met him was a gynecologist(with an attitude I might say... I would avoid Neil Goodman at all cost---this doctor actually thinks he is the best at what he does and haas no problem telling you that. In my experience when a doctor has to tell you that they are usually far from it) both offered me liposuction without an IV and off a monitor... NO WAY!!! Anyway I am rambling... back to my surgery. I had standard liposuction... Dr.Klapper if you can believe it tallked me out of the Cool Lipo Laser and told me to save my money! When does a doc do that? He kept me in recovery until I peed indicating it was safe to go home. He called me that night to see how I was. His staff called me that night. His anesthesiologist called me!!! can you believe the caring? I had no bruising... I look amazing... I highly recommend
