Coasting on it's past... 4/28/2008

We arrive after hearing much buzz about Guiseppes on Beth and Bill.... We walk in, its has its charm about it... but always a red flagf to me.. the walls adorning review after review from the mid-nineties.. giving them the street cred that their food is the real deal.. were handed menus by the owner/waiter it ranges from non descript like ""tortellini"" to presumptuous like angelinas special..( no descriptions at all) we immedietely notice the words on the menu..""no credit cards"" hey folks its 2008, kind of a standard in ANY restaurant in the COPA to take credit cards when menu is 12-15 bucks a plate..(This aint Heber or Globe) I asked if they take anything beside cash, for I did'nt bring 60 cash with me.. He grudgingly took my check.. should have left right there, but we very mistakenly stayed.. my wife asked what he reccomends... he decided to correct us like we were in 4th grade or something about how we should never ask trhat because people will just push what need to go.. Quite possibly one of the biggest owner dooshbag moments I have ever encountered at any restaurant.. We were sitting right next to the kitchen, and I noticed another huge red flag.. stacked white microwaves like you get at Wal-Mart... Why would a 35 seat restaurant need 2 microwaves I pondered.. Then as I heard the continual hum and ding through my 45 minute dining trip I reccolect the steam of Quasenar of my Veal Parmigian and it is a life lesson, More red flags...Lots of visuals of Sysco tomato cans.. Hey, I get it.. 12-15 bucks they arent using Mclendon Farms or anything, but hide your canned shame please from public eyes.. Finally our bill... a hand written with no prices put in.. $45.24.... 1 cold stale bruschetta app, 2 microwaved entrees, a diet coke, and an ice tea.... This was very overpriced, and it was some of the most lazy cooked italian food... You can always judge a restaurant by its kitchen hood,, it is in the open and very dirty.. Pros: very quaint Cons: Way to much baggage... more
