My husband and I signed a lease to rent a house from Bell-Key last year. After 7 months, we were told that the owner of the house we were renting decided to sell it and we had 60 days to move. I understand that this was not Bell-Key's fault, but there were many other instances before and after that that were unacceptable and showed a lack of business ethics. First I'd like to mention that when we originally moved into the house, the house had NOT been cleaned and there were still items from the previous tenants in the house. Our property manager (PM) also told us that upon move-in, the house and carpets would be cleaned and the yard would be tended to as it was very overgrown and neglected. This was not the case when we moved in. The house was gross, the carpet was a mess, and the grass has not been cut. We had to call our PM numerous times to get this taken care of. We had to call numberous times PERIOD if we wanted anything done. My husband used to paint and decided to repaint the walls in the house because they were dirty and needed painting. When we moved out of the house, we cleaned, steamcleaned the carpets, and disposed of all of our trash. My husband touched up the walls with paint as well. The house was in better condition then when we moved IN. Our PM did a walk through with me and everything checked out. We signed the inspection sheet and she told me that we would receive our $1,150.00 deposit back within 30 days. It has now been 40 days and we do not have our money. We have been calling Bell-Key daily, stopping by the office and we keep getting the run-around. I have e-mailed my PM twice now and received no response. We deserve our money back and now I feel I need to seek legal representation in order to get it. I do not recommend this company to ANYONE unless you expect no customer service and not to get your REFUNDABLE security deposit back. I have never dealt with such an unprofessional company in my life. And I don't plan on ever again.
