I completed my research on acupuncture however I still did not know exactly what to expect. The business is located on Joseph E Lowery Blvd in one of those New Innovative Building next to Metro Apartments that are close to W. Marietta St. ( it really looks like it is on W. Marietta St. if you ask me) the ?WellPoint Physical Therapy & Acupuncture? office was one the offices in the corner of the huge warehouse building. I am 38 years old, so it made me feel innovative and progressive to be in such a hip building. Mary Cook greeted me at the door, (I was a little early) she was very friendly & professional. I read some of the literature displayed in the office about acupuncture. (Which was helpful, to prepare me for what was to come.)Once I entered the actual room where the treatment would be held, (on time by the way) she begin to ask me a series of questions of what brought me to her. After the examination, she proceeds with the acupuncture.
She explained which points she was going to concentrate on and why. I lay across a table for about 30 minutes with acupuncture needles at designated points of my body and I was finished. After the acupuncture, I really didn?t know what to feel. (First acupuncture experience.) I really didn?t have any certain expectations of the acupuncture session. Therefore I really didn?t know what to compare it to. I have had other forms of alternative medicine, reiki, massage & neurofeedback and with each I did feel energy moving through my body. The next day, I did notice my breathing passage was clear. I could breath easier. I slept very well the night of the Acupuncture and awake with good energy. Throughout the next day I did feel energy moving through my body. I do feel calmness about myself. Also, my head (brain) seems ?clearer thoughts.?
I am definitely going back again, I am sure just like anything else it is a process to balance this body of mine. And I am looking forward to doing it. I will keep you posted.
