The recently redesigned Nickie's in Lower Haight is a beautiful natural wood and modern re-invention of the classic dimly lit neighborhood pub. I had some jambalaya from the new menu, and enjoyed a ""dollar off"" pint during happy hour. The place looks great, rebuilt by the new owners' hands, and run by a friendly (and familiar feeling staff.)
