I was both surprised and concerned when routine testing revealed abnormal results in this pet, so I immediately suggested follow-up testing and then referral to a nearby specialty clinic. This client chose to cancel the specialty clinic appointment and did not respond to my voicemail messages over a week's time. Out of concern for the pet's health, I wrote this client a hand-written note urging them to seek another opinion as soon as possible. I am relieved that this pet appears to have had follow-up medical care, and happy that things turned out well for their family.\r
