As for style, this Chinese restaurant stands out from the rest. Pop music videos are played on a couple of TVs, and the decor is contemporary. I?ve eaten here at least a dozen times, and have mostly been satisfied. The salt and pepper squid is a great choice, and the Mongolian beef is always a winner. I?m not a fan of the deserts. I once did takeout, and there was a tiny fly under the desert. You can also get bubble tea here, which is OK if you don?t mind pearls that aren?t fresh. The sizes of the plates aren?t the largest in Chinatown, but the quality is usually above average. The congee here is good, but not the best. The service is decent, compared to the low standards of China town. Sometimes the kitchen staff gets overworked, and food can take a very long time to come out. Purple Dot is open very late on Fridays and Saturdays closing around 4AM, which makes it a great choice for late night ?sobering up food.?
Pros: Late night hours for Friday and Saturday
Cons: Food waiting time
