Over the past few years, I dined at this spot with both friends and coworkers as it was a restaurant that I could depend on for great drinks, food, service and atmosphere.\r

Tonight, I went here with several friends to find that the restaurant had changed form LUCY LATIN KITCHEN to LUCYS OF GRAMERCY. We were informed that it was the same owner(s) with a new chef and new menu. The service here was horrendous and probably the worst I have seen in my 8+ years in New York. There were significant delays in the time we would see our waiter (i.e. 25 min b/t order and receipt of wine). We were only able to order food another 30 minutes after that and only after we asked the Manager to take our order, which was after asking two different busboys to have our waiter come by. Finally, when we got the bill, they charged us for all items, not even extending the gesture of a free app or wine despite acknowledging the awful service themselves. We were not looking for a handout but it is standard at any restaurant for concessions to be made when there are significant service issues.\r

Issues were not confined to our table. The place was about half full and I observed two waiters arguing with the bartender, the managers arguing with each other and the staff, other patrons getting up and leaving in frustration without ordering and the hostesses walking around lackadaisically while you try to get a table or check your coat.\r

My entree was good but the terrible service degraded the entire experience. It is also worth noting that the drink menu has been overhauled to include some blah drinks compared to the variety of mojitos and caprihinas that used to be served.\r

I cannot emphasize how disappointed I am because I liked Lucy Latin Kitchen so much. Others that did should keep it as a memory because you will NOT get the same experience in this new establishment.
Pros: entrees good (but pricey)
Cons: service, management, busboys, hostess (seriously...issues with each of them)
