Newhouse & Hutchins is a towing company, and like all towing companies, the flavor they leave in your mouth is directly related to why you have to interact with them. When I lived in an apartment, another towing company hauled my car away because my resident sticker was not adhesive, and it fell off of my tinted window. If I had written a review about that company, it would have been a nasty one.\r

I needed Newhouse and Hutchins because my wife and son were struck by a drunk driver, and they moved and stored my vehicle until the insurance company could pick it up. I drove to the scene, and the tow driver was fantastic. Every time I called for the status on the vehicle, the representatives were courteous and kind, and gave me an update very quickly. When we were ready to go get our personal effects out of the car, they were patient and sympathetic. There were a few valuable items in the car, and even though the windows had been broken in the accident, all the items were still there. They had covered the car with a tarp. The ashtray had been ""looted"" (my wife's word), so someone got my parking meter money and my Dutch Brothers Coffee card, but that could have been at the scene before they even got there. They even offered to jump-start the car so we could get the CD's out of the radio, but we chose to just leave them.\r

As far as the other reviewer calling them ""the slumlords of Portland towing"", that sounds a little like a review I would have written about my apartment tow company, if I had written it when I was angry. For me, they were fair and professional. My claims adjuster arranged for the transfer to a salvage lot, so I assume that they worked well with my insurance company. Hopefully, they'll be there to protect your assets after your next accident.\r

And if you parked illegally or not in accordance with your apartments' parking rules, don't blame the tow company. DO, however, use scotch tape to tape that sticker to your tinted windows!
