Use Tim's Treads, not Cain's Tires 11/26/2007

My mechanic said I needed new tires, and I can't stand Cain's Tires in San Rafael - they are consistently rude to me, even though I've gone out of my way to use them because they are in my immediate neighborhood (and told them that; even going in the first time with a cheery, Hi! I'm a neighbor of yours!). Also, even Cain's' doesn't recycle anything, not even newspaper, even though I made all the phone calls to get them set up for it. Grrr. \r \r So! A neighbor recommended Tim's. I took my car to him, he checked all the tires, swapped out my nearly new spare for one that was funky, and told me come back in a few months. I asked about quiet tires, and he went out of his way to call the Michelin dealer to find out if/when a sale or rebate program would happen this fall/winter. So, I will eventually need a pair of new tires, but in the meantime, I just drive by Tim's, he checks them, and gives me the real scoop. Oh, and he charged me, like, $7.50 for the tire swap. He's golden, this guy. more
