I love this place! I found it online and decided to try it for myself. I scheduled a consultation, met the owners Tonya and Ray, and scheduled an appointment for loc maintenance. Not only did she use their amazing products on my hair, she gave me a complimentary style since I mentioned I never style my hair!
I moved here from Chicago and was hoping to find a little bit of home here in Houston, but before Uncle Funky's, it was a challenge. While I was there, the store was extremely packed and several natural sisters came in for consultations and I was impressed at how much of a multi-tasker Tonya was. A family from Dubai came in to purchase products and wanted to take pictures with Tonya which I thought was waaay cool. I didn't realize curly hair was common in Middle Eastern culture but the customer said it is and her sister swears by their products.
After the family bought about a gazillion products, another one of the ladies that came in for the consultation commented that she was glad she came in and that's when I told her, I was too considering people had posted negativity on their reviews. I made it a point that I would share with the world my wonderful experience at Uncle Funky's Daughter. I applaud you Tonya and Ray. Keep doing your thing! You must be doing something right, you are getting love from around the globe. I Love the service, love the products and love the people.
