I use to go here for the two-for-one sushi happy hour (it use to be around $6 for two pieces). Wed eat right at the sushi table, watch a little sports on the flat screen. The chefs are really nice and recommended us what to get. I don't like fried food, but I had the most delicious salmon tempura sushi--the salmon was smooth as butter and crispy at the same time.
Note on other review of "old chefs": I said this in my dim sum review of Express Pavilion, too. If you're eating cultural food, then you have to accept that the food as well as the service might be culturally different than your own. Not to mention language and customs--keep this in consideration when eating out--Mexican, Thai cuisine, etc.--especially with LA being soo diverse.
Pros: 2-for-1 sushi! tempura salmon sushi
Cons: parking...its always parking
