This Outback used to have PRIME filet on their menu. Back in the day, the steak was seasoned, seared and cooked to perfection. And well under half the price of any other PRIME filet in the city. It was the best PRIME filet in the city at the BEST prices. Unfortunately, first they removed the PRIME from the menu, and then they removed the BLACK ANGUS that replaced it. Their standard beef is, unfortunately, standard. What was previously a culinary delight is no longer available. Their new menu consists of items slathered with sauces and smeared with other things like mashed potatoes. Not fun. That aside, the wait staff is generally excellent and well trained, although one or two have fallen through the cracks. Unlike the pricey steak houses, their steaks come with all the ""fixin's."" The steaks are also comparatively inexpensive, even coming with ""full menu"" (salad, vegetable and bread) rather than a la carte, but the quality of meat is no longer what was once available. If you go, make sure to order their steamed vegetables with your meal as they are cut fresh daily and cooked properly. Their salads are very good and come with fabulous croutons prepared and cooked on premises, also on a daily basis. You will not have the atmosphere of Sparks, Uncle Jack's or Smith and Wolensky's (I have never seen unattended children run through those establishments like they were playgrounds, for instance), but obnoxious over-paid jewelry-laden Rappers and their loud entourages won't be ""slumming"" at a reasonably priced restaurant like the Outback, either. Highly recommended. Pros: Good service Cons: Occasional screaming children with inattentive parents, occasional loud parties of patrons who should not be allowed drink in public. more
