This is a fun place. Love sitting on the deck on a sunny day. Kids can play in the sandbox or run in the fenced yard. Feed or pet, horses, chickens, emu within sight of the tables across the yard. Ice house sort of atmosphere, wooden shack-informal. A nice break from the hectic city. Tall forest surrounds the restaurant.
Order first at the counter then food brought out. Inexpensive. Only downside is the spotty service. Waitstaff is only average. I have been to Clay's 10 times. Sometimes it takes a while for food to arrive; twice out of ten times we had problems with our order. The inside is dark and barlike with lots of wood. Has it's own character-NOT at all like one of those chain places. Lots of indoor space and private rooms that people book for birthday parties, etc.
Pros: Country atmosphere, Great for kids
Cons: Service, a bit dark inside
