The website for this hotel looked alluring and inviting. However, after trekking through Harlem at 3am laden with suitcases, my boyfriend and I were willing to look past the true shoddiness of this hotel. Telling ourselves that the broken down elevator, lack of airconditioning, and busted bed springs were quaint. However, after sweating it out several nights in a row on a mattress with a dip in the middle, our tempers started to flare and the vacation turned into a bloody battle. Despite the saggy conditions, the chambermaid fighting on the hall phone at 8am and the hordes of frightening people outside the hotel at night, it wasn't so bad. I rather looked at it as being VERY New York.
