Nichi Bei Kai has all the accoutrements of a standard Japanese steakhouse - sushi, chefs cooking food in front of you, communal tables. Somehow, though, it manages to rise above the competition. The food is consistently excellent, the chefs consummate professionals, and the atmosphere tranquil and conducive to good conversation.
