Yummy Vodka Sauce 12/17/2006

Went with my daughter who lives in the neighborhood. Food was great, atmosphere nice with exposed brick walls and good glass of wine. Service was quick and attentive. ENJOY! Pros: Ambiance, Food more

Good food, service is poor 11/20/2006

I went twice already... the food was great Italian but the first time I went service was okay, the second it was worse! Host and hostess looked uninviting and confused as we walked in...Management looked on the 3 tables left while the kitchen blasted mood crushing obnoxious music twice! The tables in the room looked around for help, and the hostess/ management(?) looked on with clueless bordeline obnoxious expressions. Economical/ good eats, but they have to work on service in general. Pros: economical, good food Cons: service is rude/poor more

The Best in the EAST 5/12/2006

I have been eating at Pomodori for ten years and have never been disappointed. I have brought family and friends here for as long and they too have falled in love with it. Why? Excellent and friendly service, great food, reasonable prices, and a welcoming atmosphere for any occasion. And the best perk? You can actually have a glass of good house wine for under $10. Yes! One more bit of info: Zucchero & Pomodori also owns Scarlatto on 47th between Bway and 8th. This is also a wonderful and reasonably priced place! Pros: Reasonably Priced, great service, wonderful atmosphere more

Oh BOY!!! 10/12/2005

Go there on an empty stomach and leave feeling like a baby Veal Calf(ok bad joke), but you will see. The food is great!! The service well what can I say.... Just go and see for yourself. Oh yeah ever on the west side try there sister resturant Arties Cafe. goda la durata dolce di alimento!!! (Enjoy the sweet life of food) Pros: JUST GO! That's a PRO more

LOVE IT!!! 8/29/2005

This is my favorite NY restaurant. The freshly made pasta is wonderful and the pink vodka sauce is to die for! Pros: Fresh, Amazing pasta, Great value Cons: None! more

Avoid brunch... 4/21/2005

This is the ""Jackel and Hide""of the restaurants on the UES. The brunch could not be worst !From the food to the service, everything seems out of place. But, by dinner time, they turn it around and mount a huge comeback!! The Italian food has flavor (that can be sort of surprising on the UES), and the service turns from a nightmare to ""attentive"",they sort of remind me of the NY Yankees of the late 90's, no matter how bad it look, you knew that there was a rally just around the corner... Pros: dinner food, dinner service Cons: brunch food, brunch service more

Neighborhood Favorite 2/9/2005

Everytime I decide to try another place on the UES, I get angry that I didn't just go to Zucchero Pomodori. This is by far my favorite place in the neighborhood. The service is excellent, the decor is great, and the food is delicious and comes in large portions. You'll pay at least double at any other Italian restaurant in the city, and most still don't compare. I'm partial to the Gnocchi. Pros: Delicious, Fast, Inexpensive more

Consistent neigborhood Italian 8/16/2004

Excellent experience. Service was warm and attentive, beef carpaachio was exellent (huge portion) and pasta was fresh and well-prepared. Plus they made a perfect martini. Skip Baroanda down the street (Eurotrashy, snooty and expensive) and check this place out! Pros: good prices, quiet, nice service, no wait, good food, big portion more

Good Food, Reasonable Prices 11/24/2003

Had a party of 7 people for dinner here on a busy night for the restaurant, and our meal was excellent and served with extreme consistency (all appetizers and main courses were served at the right times, with none of the dishes served at the wrong temperature). The food was good and the service was great. Well done. Pros: service, salads Cons: noisy more

Great food for good price! 10/7/2003

We have been going to Zucchero e Pomodori for years. The food is consistanly good for a reasonable prices and service is even better. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly (funny too!). The young fellow, with charm makes you feel at home, order off the menu, or let you dicide what to eat. The atmosphere is very relaxing. more

Awful-Don't beleive the Hype! 8/29/2003

If you are looking for mediocre food that Zucchero y Pomodoro calls ""Italian,"" stop by this factory-style restaurant, which tries, but fails, at being trendy. The food is 'run-of-the-mill', the management is trashy, and the place is always noisy. Do yourself a favor and stay away. more

Bravo!! 6/30/2003

Excellent dining experience. They accomodated my boyfriend and I for outside seating on a busy Sunday night easily. The waiters and busboys were very quick and serviced us like we were at a very expensive restaurant. The prices were extremely reasonable and we had a wonderful time. Would definitely go back often. more

Very Good Italian 6/6/2003

Very good Italian on the upper east side at fair prices. Fish and tomato sauce both have great flavors and the dishes are under $20. I found the service to be very good, but I don't recommend eating outside. Seating is cramped and feel like you are sitting at neighbor's table. more

East side Gem 3/30/2003

This fabulous quaint, italian restaurant is the perfect spot on any night. the food is good and the prices are even better. You really don't need reservations and you can find a spot in either of their rooms. more

My favorite! 8/19/2002

Always good, with good service, atmosphere and of course, prices. One of my favorite reliable UES restaurants! more

GREAT ITALIAN! 7/3/2002
