Actually, I felt the same way as these other folks BUT I CHOSE TO STAY AND MAKE IT WORK! \r \r I had to change from Mercy, and a doctor I really liked, to Hills Physicians so I could have a cutting-edge artificial knee implanted. I more or less picked Dr. Yu's name out of a hat. I figured I would be with Hills one year for the two knee proceedures and then back to Mercy.\r \r I was so put off by Dr. Yu's office, though, I went in for what would be my final visit before requesting a different Dr. It wasn't her, it was EVERYTHING else associated with a visit to the doctor. In fact, I took my wife along to see just how bad an experience it was.\r \r A funny thing happened, though. When Dr. left the exam room to get something, my wife said ""Bill, she's a WONDERFUL doctor. You can't just leave her!""\r \r She was right. It's the DOCTOR that matters, not the surroundings. So I did something about it. First I told her I had planned on leaving but changed my mind and told her the issues I had such as the office recorder not being turned on!\r \r THEN, I began an intense PR campaign with the staff so that they came to not only KNOW me as a patient but, more importantly, LIKE me. As they would say in NYC restaurants, I ""now get taken care of."" (-:\r \r Bottom line: There is no better diagnotician, in my opinion, than Janet Yu. I have a lot of health issues and she's had tests run I didn't know existed..and those tests found things. \r \r The rest of the ""stuff"" is just clutter. Don't let it steer you away from what is REALLY the point: having a good doctor who will do her considerable best to keep you healthy! Pathetic Dr. pathetic atmosphere 2/6/2009

I cant even give this office one star for a rating. First off her office is pathetic. It looks like she opened up her garage and decided to host a family practice. They had you wait on this discusting coach(not even a sofa) with this disgusting slip cover on it. Absolutely so unprofessional!! On to the pathetic Dr. Janet Yu, this Dr. has no business being a doctor. My first visit she told me she would order me an MRI and never did. When I would call and ask the staff they would say that Dr. Yu said that,""it was pending"". I have excellent inc. \r MRI's do not have to pend. In the mean time she gave me medicine to help with the pain. However she I made me feel as I was a loser for taking them. lft several msg for her to call me and never once did she. There are so many wonderful doctors out there and she does not even come close to being one of them. If you want to be treated properly and with respect do not see Dr. Janet Yu. Pros: nothing Cons: everything from the enviroment to the staff and doctor more

Poor Performance 10/16/2008

I am a new patient and was able to see Dr Yu after a two month wait. I needed to get a referral for a specialty doctor and waited three months. When I called her office, the ladies answering the phone were rude and not helpful. I asked about the referral and they didn't know what I was talking about. The gal over the phone said Dr Yu would call me back. Three weeks later and at least five phone calls with messages, and I was still waiting for a phone call to be returned; no referral and was in much pain. I've switched doctors and have gone elsewhere. Good doctor, poor staff, no follow-through; and poor customer service. By the way, my fracture is now being treated. Cons: staff and communication more

Unethical practice 5/29/2008

My husband and son has been seeing Dr. Yu for a couple of years now and she was always very pleasant . When i finally decided to switch from my Dr. to Dr. Yu (so i can keep our family together) turned out to be the worst decision i ever made!!! I had to wait 2 months for a appointment. The week of my appointment, her front staff called and cancelled my appointment 2 days before stating that Dr. Yu could not see me. I asked about when can i come in and was told the following month. I explained to front desk that i have been waiting 2 months for this appointment and was told unless i have an extreme need they cannot see me. Basically I needed to be falling out is what she told me! As it was only May 7th and my appointment was on May 9, how is it that you're already looking into the end of June if that?? I work for a Dr. too, and as busy as we are, when we cannot see a patient, we work extra hours to fit them in as soon as possible. i asked if she can have Dr. Yu call me back as was told that she would on Monday. Monday came and went and by Thursday I called the office again requesting to speak to Dr. Yu. The same gal i spoke to denied our conversation and said she did not recall me asking her to have Dr. Yu call me. I demanded a call by the end the day. To my suprise, the same gal called me and told me Dr. Yu could not speak to me and that if i was dissatisfied with their appointment scheduling maybe i should go elsewhere. The rudness and lack of professinalism i received from this office was un-called for. I'm a NEW PATIENT, I haven't even set foot in their office as an active patient, it makes me wonder how they treat other patients?? I would never go there, and infact i transferred our family to a new M.D., mine who i've known for years and has always treated me with respect. He knows how his business flourished. Without people in need of medical attention he wouldn't be in business. Dr. Yu should know this. Cons: Terrible front staff more

Dr. Yu is a wonderful doctor! 8/30/2007

I love Dr. Yu. I have been with Dr. Yu for about 5 years now. I had tried other doctors as I moved to Lodi, however found that Dr. Yu was the best around. I would gladly drive the extra time to see her. Granted she is very busy and is limited on when she can take you in on short notice, but I must say I was never turned down or left feeling I wasn't helped. The staff is always nice and helpful. \r \r I think if you visit Dr. Yu you should be well aware that she is one of those doctors that likes to help people and listen to what the problem is...not just see to see you and bill you for the extra bucks in her pocket. Pros: Great personal doctor that really cares about your health Cons: A bit over booked...but don't stop being a great doctor... I can wait in the woating room! more

Terrible staff and atmosphere 6/4/2007

Don't expect to receive decent care from this doctor's office. The staff is pathetic, will lie to you and is generally apathetic when it comes to patient care. I wouldn't consider Dr. Yu to be a ""great"" doctor. I have since switched to a different GP and am VERY happy. I can now get an appointment, instead of being told to ""go to the ER if you need to see someone today"". \r Bottom line, this doctor should not be practicing and, in my opinion, is a malpractice suit waiting to happen.\r There are so many great doctors in the area to choose from and I'm so relieved that I don't have to deal with this pathetic office any longer. \r READ the reviews and stay away from this doctor! Pros: Nothing more
