I've been an intermittent member at the Carlson YMCA over the past few years, and have always enjoyed using their facilities. They offer a number of exercise classes each week including yoga, swimming, kickboxing, step aerobics, spinning, toning and more. (The spinning classes are particularly intense.) The cardio area has treadmills, steppers, exercise bikes,ellipticals, a couple of rowing machines and a nautilus. It gets crowded around 5:00-7:00pm on weekdays, but otherwise there is generally no problem getting a machine right away. The adjacent "Lifecycle" weight training area is good for beginners, but won't impress the serious weight lifter. The membership is very diverse but generally co-operative and friendly as are the staffers.
