I contemplated on whether or not to write this review, because I truly want to see folks thrive in their professions and entrepreneurship. I have made three visits to Xclusive Hair Studio, and I actually liked the young lady and had warm feelings. Since I really want the stylist to thrive in her business, I am not going to mention her name because my hope is when people know better they do better. On my third visit to the salon, when I arrived the power was out, but I decided to wait, which ended being about a two hour wait time. I was the young ladies’ first client, but she apt to tend to the hair of a friend of hers that walked in. One of the assistants in the salon washed my hair and I had to sit and wait with dripping wet hair until my stylist returned from the café. That was the first indicator that told me I should have left. I got my hair done on a Saturday and the following Sunday I started to experience an annoying itchy feeling around my neck. I really didn’t think much of it, because I do have sensitive skin. As the days went on, the itching became progressively worst to the point where my neck was not only itching, but I had a burning feeling and it felt like something was crawling under my skin. The itching area around my neck was the same area where the cape was draped around my neck. I recall smelling a funk from the cape, but again, I ignored that because my hair was already wet and dripping. It was later determined that I contracted a fungus from the cape and parts of the fungus turned into ringworms. When I found out it was a fungus and ringworms, I was totally grossed out. Never have I ever contracted ringworms. I text the young lady and told her what happened and ask that she mail my money back. Well that never occurred, but that is not what escalated my anger. What escalated my anger is the fact that she did not respond to my text nor offered an apology. I will not return, but I hope she learns from this and practice health safety so that this does not happen to someone else.
