I live here and I hate it. The HOA is extremely rude to the residents. They will shut off utilities to do repairs without warning the residents. For example, they put up a notice yesterday saying the heat would be shut off today for repairs. They didnt say the water would be shut off as well but it is and when we called the office to find out what is going on no one will pick up the phone but there is a message saying the water will be off until 7pm tonight. About a month ago we had sewage back up into our unit so we called the HOA about it. The maintenance man, Barry, told us he was sending someone out to fix it but we would have to pay for it. We told him if we were paying for it we would get our own plumber to take a look and get an honest opinion what was going on. Then he backpedalled and said, nevermind, the HOA would pay for it. Barry routinely gets friends of his to come do repairs on the buildings without telling the residents and if you approach the contractor to see what is going on they will tell its none of your business. Then a few days later, the HOA will send you a letter saying that if you continue harrassing their contractors they will have to take legal action and send their lawyers after you. This is the treatment you will get for the price of $440 a month in HOA fees. Anytime you have a concern or issue the HOA will pretty much tell you to go f*** yourself in not so many words. Other issues that constantly arise are whenever it snows they dont clean off the sidewalks for days. I have pictures documenting very thick ice on the handicap ramp and stairwells three to five days after the storm happened. When we contacted the HOA about that issue they told us if we wanted them to clean up the snow in a timely manner then we should expect our HOA fees to go up. Again, you will be paying $440 a month to be treated like this if you move here. Also, about once a year we receive a letter from a law firm which says that if enough homeowners sign a petition they would be able to audit the HOA's finances because the HOA gets about $2 million in annual revenue but for some reason have only roughly $200,000 in their reserve account so the attorney thinks there could be a viable case if enough homeowners petition for an audit. The problem is, most of the residents here rent and their landowners live out of town and either dont know or dont care what is going on here. Another problem is that Pansy Moore, the HOA leader, owns many of the units here so she gets a pretty large say-so in what happens in our complex. I have talked to the security company that patrols the complex and they told me they had been instructed by the HOA to leave the buildings alone where Pansy Moore owns units. A few months ago there was a shooting outside one of those buildings and there are often a group of black guys who sit around outside smoking weed and drinking in public. If you are out walking your dog these guys will harrass you about loaning them some money. We called the HOA about that issue and they said they would deal with it but it is still happening. So thats pretty much the treatment you will get here. DONT MOVE HERE IT SUCKS AND YOU WILL BE GIVING YOUR HARD_EARNED $$$$$$ TO AN HOA THAT WILL NOT SERVE YOUR BEST INTEREST!!!!
