When I used to hear the name Wolfgang Puck I would think of the renowned Spagos or those ""express"" food spots at the airport - maybe even some packaged goods at the grocery store. This has all changed. From now on I will think only of WP24, and for good reason.
Ok, so the location is pretty much unbeatable - The Ritz Carlton / Marriott building(s) are stunning, high atop the L.A. Live complex. The views from your table will blow you away. There are windows, big windows, all around the place. When you walk in through the lounge you can't believe you are in LA - it feels like upscale Las Vegas but much better because you are still in LA and not stuck in the desert. Some restaurants just put you in a state of awe the moment you enter - this place is no exception. It is 5:30am the next morning and I am still thinking about the views and interior design.
The staff are of course super friendly and professional - you'd expect that, right? But multiply this by 10 and you'll be near a closer estimate. They are foodies themselves and they know their menu - let them guide you to a right decision. If not for them, and their thoughtful recommendations for my happiness, I would never have enjoyed this AMAZING WAGYU-KOBE NY STEAK OF MY DREAMS. To say it was the best steak I have ever had.... would be the truth. The cocktails are of course terrific - as in stand out terrific. I had more than a few Side Cars (my new favorite drink).
Big list of appetizers - asian inspired menu. I also had one of the best deserts of my life - the Marjolasian, layers of dark chocolate, white expresso mouse, cashew nougatine and milk chocolate glace (yes I went back to their site for the proper ingredients!)... Did someone say ""salty-sweet ecstasy?""
So yeah, you can't miss at this place. It cannot get any better. I will go back again. It is not cheap, but you don't need me to tell you that. It is worth every penny though, that is for sure. I cannot remember the last meal I had that was even close to as good as this place - this is one for the books...
Pros: food, staff, location, views, decor
Cons: hard to find the door on the way out!
