Worst Liquor Store Ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 8/20/2009

I have been to some grimey liquor stores in my life and this place in downtown crossing sux worse than the crappiest place you can dream of (even if it looks nicer and cleaner). First off, there is no AC - in the dead of summer it is 95+ in there. Second the beer is just as warm, I have to put it in the freezer for like 45 minutes before I can drink one. The staff is weird, unkowledgeable and dont care (but I wouldnt either if I worked at a dump like this). The only reason I ever go there is because it is convienient when I am in the area. If you live in this area I reccommend walking to Sagarinos on South Street or even the Chinatown liquor store on Beach St. (for beer but not for wine) over this place. Suckiest liquor store of all time!!!! Oh... AND ITS VERY EXPENSIVE ON TOP OF EVERY THING ELSE Pros: Nothing at all is pro Cons: Everything - especially warm beer more

AVOID THIS LIQUOR STORE! 3/25/2008

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Pros: Location Cons: Poor Customer Service, Warm Beer more

Great Place for a Special Night Out 5/4/2007

We loved this place. We went for our one year anniversary and everything was excellent. The wine was amazing, a huge list of only top quality wines but with very reasonable prices. The food, even better. We had the three course meal for two which features a cheese fondue, four entree fondues and a chocolate fondue for dessert. We were extremely impressed with the Wine Cellar and would recommend it to anyone. It was truly one of our favorite restaurant experiences. Pros: everything more

A good attempt, just doesn't work. 7/4/2005

I must start by saying I have gone to a fondue restaurant in Chicago for a few years, and it is by far the best meal I have had. Wine Cellar tries hard, but it just doesn't work. The prices are far too high, and the selection is nothing to be impressed with. My girlfriend is a vegetarian, and since everything is based on 2 people, and includes meat, we had to get the most basic cheese fondue. What did we get? IT was some cold homefries and hunks of bread. The homefries were supposed to be cold, but I just didn't think it was worth $18. The wine selection is worth going for on its own I will say, and the owner was very helpful in helping us select a good bottle. Also, we went on a Saturday night at 8:15 and we were 1 of only 3 tables. Pros: romantic Cons: price, selection, size more
