had a great time, good food, great service 7/22/2007

My family and I had a great time! We were there on a Sunday for dinner, it was a little busy, but nonetheless it was really good. It was our first time there and my parent's are from Chicago, they thought it was really tasty. The service was great. Mark, was waiting on us, it was obvious that he made time for ALL of his patrons. You don't find that everyday when you go out to eat. He realized that it was our first time there and he went over the menu with us, highlighting on some of his personal favorites, like the ""Loop"" and the ""California Chicken"" (which both were awesome), he brought over crayons and coloring paper for the kids, it was great, he had their food out as soon as possible, suggested an import draft beer, (which is really good, from Germany). I was just really glad that we went there. It felt like home. We can't wait until we go back. Thanks Mark !!! See you soon Pros: family friendly Cons: none so far more

Great Waitress & Food, but TERRIBLE Manager! 6/1/2007

My husband & I are regulars at Windy City Pizza. We have always enjoyed a great meal with decent service, UNTIL last evening. When there was a discrepancy on our bill regarding an extra topping we were charged $1.20 for. Small, but still we mentioned it to our waitress who usually serves us. She said no problem & went to her mgr. ""Bitzie"" to request it be removed. She approached us with a rude attitude & refused to remove it stating,"" well it says on the menu what extra toppings cost more"" . UMMMM we never ordered an extra topping & our waitress confirmed she had mistakenly forgot to count the number listed on the order. Bitzie, then started raising her voice at us & embarrasing herself & staff in front of all of the customers witnessing this act! I asked her if this was truly worth losing a customer over, & she said it was fine... unbelievable!!! When I mentioned that we were regulars & that this was no way to treat your customers, she could care less. After succumbing to her pride of being WRONG, she eventually took it off the bill, only to charge our waitress with it instead...terrible. The whole situation I found rather insulting especially when I get home to find we were missing 2 of our toppings anyway!! I am a small business owner with 15 employees & I WOULD NEVER TREAT MY STAFF OR CLIENTS SO RIDICULOUSLY. I'm certain her manager will hear about this...but we will be back, just hopefully not while Bitzie is there!! Pros: Excellent Food & Value Cons: Terrible employee named Bitzie more

great pizza 4/11/2005

This is good pizza! I eat here all the time and it is great. My friend zach eats here too and loves it also! This is the best pizza joint in Tampa. Nice thick crust, lotsa garlic if you wish, and a huge list of toppings to choose from.. It's fantastic! more

Mixed review 3/19/2005

Went there with my parents. My mom liked the pizza, my dad and I didn't care for the tomato sauce which we thought ruined the pizza. more

Excellent Pizza and Value 3/8/2005

The pizza here is outstanding. I have been eating since 1993 and have never had a bad experience. If you like garlic...then try ""Jake's Garlic Sauce"" on your pizza. Pros: Pizza, Service, Price Cons: Dessert more

Not real pizza 7/29/2004

Their pizza was among the worst I have ever had. I was in the mood for Chicago pizza and went to Pizzaria UNO in Orlando and then Windy comparison. Windy City is not even close to real Chicago pizza. Pros: cheap beer Cons: , salad, pizza more

Chicago Style Pizza? 4/8/2004

If you are REALLY looking for Chicago style pie then I would suggest Chicago Pizza & Pasta in Largo! I make the 1 hr. 30 + min. drive for this pizza because it FAR OUT-SHINES Windy City Pizza (I've only been there once and trust me - will NEVER go back!) Pros: cant think of any Cons: , parking stinks more

Best Deep Dish Pizza 11/18/2003

Best deep dish pizza I have found in the area. The bottom of the crust is crispy, which is hard to find in a thick crust pizza. Also, the toppings aren't so juicy that they make the crust get soggy. A choice of sauces is nice, and a huge list of topping selections make this a jewel of pizza places that add to the list of reasons to live in Tampa. Pros: super toppings list, crispy crusts, fresh ingredients Cons: only one location more

My Favorite 7/2/2003

There are so many reasons I love Windy City...let me count the ways: 1. Trivia cards on the tables 2. The skyline pizza 3. $1 pitchers of beer 4. Bitsy, the waitress 5. Fabulous menu selection, creative pizzas 6. Small, family-owned 7. Down the street from my house 8. Delicious homemade house dressing on the $1.50 salad Pros: Great Value, Great Food, Great Service Cons: none. more

Top 10??? PLEASE.... 3/6/2003

Something to sing your teeth in 11/5/2002

Some of the best pizza we found in Florida. Finally a place where two slices fills you up. Not a place you need to stack two slices together to get a mouth full. The parking sucks but the wait is worth it. It's not quite as good as some of the old Chicago places but its the best we have Pros: deep dish, variety, ambience Cons: parking, the weather more

Outstanding Restaurant. Fantastic and Great Pizza. If you are from Chicago--you KNOW it is the BEST. Pros: Great Service, Inexpensive, Unique Way of Serving Cons: Restaurant Expansion more

Chicago Style Pizza? 10/21/2002

My wife is from Chiago and says its close enough. If your a Bulls,Sox or Cubs fan you should feel right at home. Good lunch all you can eat weekdays. Pros: Local, Parking, Pizza more

Woo- hoo! 8/11/2002

The best pizza in tampa, hands down! no one else even comes close. the only downside is the poor parking due to the proximity to Chillis and the church. Pros: Great food, variety, unique Cons: parking more

Over-rated 8/8/2002

I was disapointed to put it mildly. I'm not from Chi-town, but I know pizza. I have had many of Chicago style pizza before and this was a bit of let down. The service was poor at best, borderline rude. Pros: location Cons: too many to list, you felt like leaving more
