Great quality and tasty local food 10/21/2010

This place has been voted best of mid valley by the statesman journal. Their meats are naturally grown and local and you can definitely taste the difference. We've been here twice and have been very pleased both times. They start you off with fresh warm rosemary garlic bread and rosemary olive oil to dip in. The waiters are very friendly and professional. We have had the fennel dusted lamb chops with pomegranate merlot sauce and parsnips AND the valley burger and both are DELICIOUS!!! The prices are moderate, about what you would spend at any other steakhouse but with much more quality and flavor...we have been to outback steakhouse, original roadhouse and the best little roadhouse and none we think compare in flavor to the food here. Our meat was juicy not dry like what we've had elsewhere. WE HAVE FOUND OUR NEW BEST PLACE FOR HEALTHY FLAVORFUL LOCAL FOOD! more

Good-tasting food, great quality & service 9/25/2010

I was visiting Salem and my friend wanted seafood so I checked City Search and found Willamette Valley Grill. I went by the review left by another customer and we decided to give it a try. Well, the food was good, not spectacular, but good. But the service was great, the food was piping-hot from the kitchen and came FAST! FRESH food and prepaired right, not under or over done. Gordon Ramsey need not show up here anytime soon. We had dishes with shrimp, chicken and pasta; again just fine, not out of this world, but fine. The price for our meals was fair and portions were good. Now I won't say I'd drive 74 miles to come again, but I would go through a rainy night to get there. A band was playing in the bar (it was Saturday night) but it did not bother me at all. The staff was great and attended to our every need. So, to die for? Well, no, not at all (don't kid yourself). But I'd say check it out if you want to skip the chain establishments (like I wanted to) and have a unique and good taste of Salem! more

I think I've died and gone to heaven! 6/22/2009

I took my husband and kids here for an early Father's Day dinner and our experience was exceptional! I'll start by saying that this evening was all about the little things... first, it was very easy to find (just off I-5 at the Red Lion hotel on Market St), and once we arrived we were catered to by our waiter like we were the only customers he had. The atmosphere was very intimate and would be perfect for a date night alone (especially the booth in the back with the optional curtain : ), yet we felt very comfortable being there with our two young children as well. Now to the food... Amazing, flavorful, mouthwatering, deliciousness is just the tip of the iceberg. Everything we ordered from the fondue to the salads, the steak and shrimp... was impeccable! They brilliantly melded spices, herbs and sauces in combinations that I'm still trying to decipher as to what was used. Our kids said their food was ""awesome"" and are already asking when we can go back! We all left there with our pallets satisfied, full to our eyeballs and thrilled with the staff and our overall experience... and for the amount of food we ordered, they were very reasonable. Oh and did I mention... we drove from Battle Ground, WA to Salem, OR to have dinner here! (that's 74 miles one way) And we'll do it again, because it's absolutely worth the drive! Pros: Amazing food Cons: They don't have more than one location more
