We used this company last month and couldn't have been happier. Ryan and James did a great job. They were fast, efficient, careful and courteous. It took them just under 4 hours to load up and unload our 2 bedroom house into a 3 bedroom, 2 story new home. They even had to lift the king-size mattress over the master balcony because of the size and didn't miss a beat. I'd recommend them for their reasonable price and their professional service. This moving company is absolutely amazing! My husband and I have had bad experiences with many other moving companies, and I came onto City Search to find a new company. We have used these guys twice in the past month, and both times have been wonderful experiences. They are punctual, clean, hard-working, and protected my floors, walls and furniture. We moved in April and for me it was a pretty small move, just one bedroom and a few other storage things...but I tell ya, these guys were GREAT! They were very polite, very fast, very careful and accomodated my every request :) This is top of the line moving service! Their truck was huge...All my stuff didn't even fill up a quarter of it lol..they charge from the time they leave their office to the time they get back there and they were very fair with their charges...I would definitely use these guys again!!! This was one of the best experiences we've ever had with a moving company. They showed up on time, were very friendly and polite, they protected all of the floors and door ways and were some of the hardest working guys I've ever seen. We hired 3 people since we lived at the bottom of about 4 flights of stairs with no elevator. They were a lot quicker than we expected them to be. I've had bad experiences in the past with moving companies - charging per step from the truck to the door, purposely over-using packing materials so they can charge more for them, charging mileage from place to place, charging for more time than it actually took. Willamette did none of these things and they were a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely use this company again and I'd recommend them to anyone moving. We hate moving. Who doesn't?!?! We had just moved to Portland in December and needed to move to Vancouver, WA last week. UGH! Anyhow, we called Willamette Valley Moving and we will never call another moving company again. more

These guys were great, and also, it's the first time I have ever paid someone else to move my stuff for me, so, that made it extra great. Pros: they showed up and covered everything we hadn't and moved all the stuff, too. Cons: none more

At first I was unsure about this place. Only glowing reviews (sounds sketchy for EVERY one to be so fabulous). Also, when I called to set up the appointment, I did not get a confirmation number or a reminder call - I was unsure if they'd be there on time. Mike and Charles showed up on time (a few minutes early, even) and quickly loaded up my stuff. They were courteous and professional. I was floored with how quick and efficient they were. It took just two hours from the time they got to my door to the time they were backing out my new driveway. They definitely met and exceeded my already high expectations! I tell anyone who will listen how this was the best use of money I've had in a long time. It was very affordable and so little time. It took the hassle out of doing it myself - saved me time and money - I would have spent more on pizza and beer and a truck and gas and spent a whole day for my friends to do it. And I didn't have to lose any friends in the process... Fabulous job, guys, I am more than impressed. more

These guys rock! I read the reviews and then a friend who recently moved used them and highly recommended them. Charles and Mike were great. The last time we moved we had to make 2 trips with a 17 ft truck and they were able to get everything loaded into one 24 foot truck. They hustled, were pleasant, and got us completely moved with our minimal assistance in far less time then it took 7 of us last time. We highly recommend them-ask for Charles and Mike! My partner says "these guys are like the Les Schwab of movers, quick on their feet, courteous, eager to get the job done. " Pros: Quick, affordable, bonded, nice guys Cons: none more

Let me start by saying that I hate moving more than pretty much anyhing in the world. To go along with the stress of moving I recently bought my first house. These guys were amazing. They showed up approx. 10 minutes early. Proceeded to do a quick walkthrough with me of my old rental to see what they were up against and then went to work. The 2 guys Ryan and James were like machines. My rental was empty in 30 minutes. I then had them start on the garage. With all the akward pieces(kegerator, slide top cooler, tires, and the mountain of boxes) in the garage they manages to completely stuff the truck in another 45 mins max. The only thing that originally concerned me about the packing up was the plastic wrap they used on all my furniture. As in "What am I going to do with all that wrap when I start unpacking?" Pros: Professional, Fast, and No hidden fees. Cons: None more

Jason and John helped me move some heavy items on 2/25/08. They were on time (actually a little early), and very efficient-- the move took less time than I had anticipated. The next time I'm in need of moving help, this is the first company I'm going to call. I highly recommend them. more

Based on the review here on Citysearch, I contracted with WMV to move my 2 bedroom apartment in late January. I knew they were only sending 2 guys, and honestly, that worried me a bit--I thought it would take forever! How wrong I was. James and Ryan showed up with the truck not just on-time, but about 10 minutes early. They were polite and congenial, and boy did they move! I watched stacks of boxes and heavy furniture practically fly out of my second-story apartment. They expertly (and carefully!) wrapped and padded my furniture, all the while listening to any instructions I had. I watched them pick up a substantial TV armoire with what appeared to be a total minimum of strain (they used movers straps--right tools for the right job!). Once they were all packed, they found their way to my new apartment with no problems and proceeded to unload the truck quickly and professionally. They even assembled my bed set! The entire move was complete in 2.5 hours, which included their travel time to Lake Oswego from NW PDX. Believe the hype: WMV are fantastic movers for a very reasonable price--I paid a grand total of $260 for the move, and then I tipped James & Ryan separately because I was so impressed. I was more than happy to pay as they saved me a huge amount of time and trouble--and sore backs! Pros: Easy to schedule, reasonable price, excellent service more

Outstanding service. I chose this moving company solely based on the reviews I read here and was not disappointed. Having moved a fair number of times around the Portland metropolitan area I have used multiple companies, most of which were slow and as a result over charged. Willamette valley moving was excellent, the guys never stopped to take a breath, were very courteous, and got the job done in half the time other moving companies take. Very highly recommended! These people just plain did a great job. No hidden costs, arrived on time, courteous, friendly, fast and professional. The little extras really made a difference, like laying down their own runners to keep from tracking stuff in, providing a couple of extra boxes when we needed them, and taking extra care with the furniture. I called Willamette Valley Moving based on the reviews here on Citysearch and I wasn't disappointed. Although I had a tough move up to a hilltop location near downtown, Charles and Mike moved me in within 3.5 hours, including a trip to clear out my storage area in Gresham! They were polite, early and fast. During the middle of my move, other residents were commenting how other moving companies had refused to move them based on the steep location of the condos and the number of stairs that run throughout the property. One resident even said that another moving company had actually left her things at the bottom of the hill! I highly recommend these guys, and even recommended them to a co-worker who just bought a place and they are moving her this weekend. They did a great job with my stuff and I will call them again. more

When the company I had originally hired to move me didn't show up I called Willamette Valley based on the reviews I read here on CitySearch. When I explained my situation to Steve he, without hesitation, scheduled two guys to come move me first thing the next morning. They showed up right on time, they were friendly and FAST!! They had me moved in about an hour and a half (including puzzling to get my over-sized sofa through a small door for 10-15 minutes)!! Everything about the experience was very positive! I'm from EU living in the US for many years - east coast and now Portland - got rental and recently purchased a house. Willamette was the best moving experience so-far. One of the two guys never walked - he ran all the time - it took them just about two hours to move everything to my new house. Very nice and friendly, constantly asking if everything is ok, charged me for wardrobe boxes less then Home Depot. Sticked to their price-85$/hrs. No demage to my stuff! Pros: easy to schedule, arrival on time, fast, careful, friendly, professional Cons: you will have to tip them well at the end because they work too hard:) more

I moved on July 14, 2007, I was scheduled at 9am, and the movers were there promptly at 9am. From the moment they arrived Harlan and Cory were very professional and wrapped my furniture with protective tape and loaded everything on their truck. I moved from a 4th floor apt in gresham to a 10th floor apt in a highrise in downtown Portland. The entire move took 3 1/2 hours. They move very fast and the price was very fair, I did not mind paying this bill at all. Considering there was alot of loading everything on to elevators and getting to and from these apts, this was a very fair move. If anyone has a move coming up, you would be doing yourself a favor by contacting this moving company and I highly recommend the two movers I had Harlan and Cory.
