So I go here to get my first Brazilian Wax. I came to city search to read the reviews for this place and they were all amazing. I read one negative one regarding african american waxing but I was sure not to get the person they said did a bad job.
So first, I made my appointment for 4pm with D'Lesa. I pull up and get a phone call on my cell phone from my person saying that she is running about 15 minutes behind. I was already there so I just went in and waited.
I go in and there were about 4 or 5 little fly/mosquito bugs flying all around the lobby area! So I sit down in one of 2 chairs (with dirty white coverings) and wait to be helped. I sat there for about 30 minutes without seeing one single soul! All I heard was really loud talking and personal conversations from down the hall. Then, 3 women walk out and don't even acknowledge that there is a customer present. I mean, the service was just piss poor.
So finally, my lady comes to get me. She then forewarns me that don't be shocked when I go into her room because it's ""usually not this messy"" but she has just been super busy. People, I walked into the room and it was absolutely terrible. There was random stuff EVERYWHERE, there was work out equipment, random clothes everywhere and not to mention wax dripped and slung everywhere. I SHOULD HAVE LEFT AT THIS POINT. But as a 22 year old girl who had hyped herself up all week for her first brazilian...it was gonna get done that day!
So she leaves the room while I change my clothes. She comes storming back in in a frenzy freaking out about how someone had hacked their website and blah blah blah. So she's running all around, my appointment at this point shouldve started well over 30 minutes ago. So as she's running around in a tizzy to get someone to come fix it, I'm getting more and more nervous and uneasy. So she finally gets some guy on the phone as says he can come at 5...its like 4:40 at this point.
So I tell her she is putting me more on edge so she calms down a little and comes over to begin. It old her it was my first time and she starts on another rant about how the scheduler shouldve made my appointment for an hour if it was my first time. I told the scheduler when I called that it was my first time. I even asked for tips about what I should do, what to bring, etc. So that was ANOTHER miscommunication on their part. So at this point, she says she is so behind she asks if I would mind if she did half that day and half later on in the week...ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? So I was like, no, I'd rather get it all done today. I was mentally prepared.
The actual process was not AWFUL. The horror stories are pretty scary but it wasn't so painful I couldn't bare it. She said for it to be my first time I had a really high pain tolerance, which worked out well for me.
But the end of it, I was all bare...or so I thought. First off, she left wax all over my vag! I mean there was random wax, little drops that she did not remove. And finally, when it was all said and done, there was still a LOT of hair left. Not even just strays (which she shouldve then removed with tweezers) I'm talking small PATCHES.
And afterward my skin was very irritated and swollen for at least 3 days even tho she told me to put ice on it and the next day everything would be fine. It was a terrible experience and not because of the pain but because of the poor service and the poor workmanship. I do not advise ANYONE to go here, ESPECIALLY AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN.
Annnnnd it's sooooo overpriced! $75?!? I wasn't gonna take a chance going to a cheap place for my first time. For this price, I thought it would be PERFECT. Horrible.
