Great Food Awesome Service 8/30/2009

Went there for Din-out Raleigh as a way to try new places. The food was delicious, and the service was great. The only complaint is that the booth backs are a little flimsy so when the person on the other side moves you may be knocked about a bit. Pros: Very good food, Extremely attentive service. Cons: Booths backs a little flimsy. more

Amazing chinese, great sushi, great service 2/22/2009

I travel a lot for work and always eat at Asian restaurants. I was visiting Raleigh at the time. The food is very good. For this price you will not find anything better in another big city. The Spicy Chicken with Vegetables is just to die for. The sushi is fresh and the portion is large for its price. Extra rice without any extra charges. I would have given it 5 stars if they would completed the interior, but the ceilig threw me off. \r The service was very good, and the people are super friendly.\r I went back several times, it was worth it every time.\r Pros: Food, service Cons: ceiling more

WORST (and slowest) SERVICE IN DOWNTOWN RALEIGH!!!! 1/23/2009

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU EXPECT BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. The service was awful, unnecessarily slow, and the owner/manager is extremely rude. On several occasions, I have eaten here and only a part of my party was served at one time. Generally, most are finished eating when they bring out the final entrees for the remaining diners. It is inconvenient and slow whether they are busy or not. When I refused to pay for a meal that took close to 45 minutes to bring, the manager became rude, loud and inappropriate. If you are looking for quality service along with your meal, there are plenty of better options in downtown Raleigh. Cons: Slow Service, Rude Staff more

Delicious HIbachi chicken! 2/19/2008

I haven't tried the sushi here, but the hibachi chicken, steak and the chicken goma (sp) is delicious beyond belief. It is a good value to. I often go at lunchtime. Your entree generally comes with a choice of soup or salad. Although its on the dinner menu, I often order the spring rolls as a side at lunch. Those are a little pricey, but the best I've ever tasted, hands down, so I don't mind. The diningroom is very small, there aren't enough tables or space, in my opinion, but I guess they are working with what they have. Yummm! Definitely recommended. Service is excellent. Note: they don't have teriyaki chicken on the menu. I wish they did!!! more

Avoid eating in the middle of the week, food is not prepared fresh.. 12/25/2007

It is indeed a small diner with few tables, but with only a table or two occupied, our group of four, still received very slow service. The atmosphere was bland and plain. My shrimp dish smelled old, the peanut oil had been reheated one too many times. The food was not fresh, it also tasted reheated. My friends enjoyed their sushi. That's the only good thing about this place. I would not recommend eating here.\r We will not return. more

Raleigh's most toothsome sushi! 10/10/2007

YUM. Wild Ginger's sushi is easily one of, if not the, best place for sushi in Raleigh. You might have to be a bit patient, as it seems the wait can border on lengthy at times despite the lack of a crowd. Keep in mind it's all handmade (it's a craft, not a fast food combo), and good things take time! It's well worth the wait. Their NY roll is one of my favorites. Pros: GREAT sushi, friendly service Cons: Sushi can take a little time, just be patient! It's worth it. more

excellent! 4/7/2007

i went here w/3 friends last night & we were all very pleasantly surprised by both the food & the atmosphere. between the 4 of us we tried a few of their sushi rolls, hibachi shrimp, noodles, tom ka gai soup, shrimp dumplings, salmon app... everything was excellent with the exception of the tom ka gai - it wasn't bad, but i've had lots better. the atmosphere is nice too - very small & quaint, quiet, nice lighting, & high backed booths all down one wall with just a couple of small tables. i didn't notice any japanese pop music - whatever music was on was very quiet. it was a relaxing atmosphere. the service was very good also. we all highly recommend it! more

Excellent sushi 12/14/2006

Wild Ginger is one of the better sushi restaurants in the Triangle. It has a large menu of both Thai and Japanese cuisine, which really helps when I'm dining with people who don't like sushi. I love sushi, and Wild Ginger provided creative rolls and sushi that tastes fresh and delicious. Their hibachi dinners are also wonderful. Pros: Delicious food Cons: Small dining area, but it has never been crowded when I've eaten there more

oh man oh man...SUSHI IS AMAZING 10/17/2006

This place is fabulous! Definitely the best sushi in the triangle, based on my experience. Get the sushi-lover's platter. Sushi Blues and Sushi Thai have fancier sushi selections, but the quality does not compare. This is just plain and simple GOOD sushi. The atmosphere is nice, upscale but not too upscale, and the price is reasonable for the quality of the food. Sake cocktails all sound intriguing, and the Ginger Cosmopolitan was excellent. They have really good miso soup. Service was adequate -- I'm pretty sure the sushi chef didn't speak English though. But hey, if he makes sushi like that, he can speak whatever he wants. The only thing I disliked about the place was the irritating Japanese pop music they had playing, but it's easy to tune out if you're eating amazing sushi. Overall, this place is EXCELLENT, and I created an account here just so I could review it and tell you all how badly you need to eat at Wild Ginger. Pros: SUSHI, sake cocktails, quiet Cons: service adequate more
