Expensive, really slow, bad baked goods 4/15/2006

I hate going to Whole Foods but I do when I have to, only because it is within walking distance. They are selling you a "lifestyle", exemplified by the baby section where they actually sell baby clothes (!) and those outrageously expensive leather baby bootees. I've never had a baked good there I liked, and the lines are *so* slow! The only reason I ever go there is for the salad bar to get lunch for my kids. Incidentally they do have a kids meal at the sandwich section, but I don't get it because it is cheaper to just get something from the salad bar. Basically, I don't want to buy into their marketing plan so I don't shop there regularly. more

Love their bulk grain section and their produce section 3/26/2006

We recently put our son on a gluten free diet and friends of ours who have a child on a gluten free diet recommended going here. We can get bulk rice flour to use in bread baking, we can get pasta made with quinoa or rice and they are quite reasonable. We can get baking mixes and gluten free cupcake mix, so my son can have a cupcake at school when they are celebrating birthdays. The baked goods/mixes can get pricey, but I refuse to buy GFCF stuff online and pay shipping. This is also the only place where we have found gluten free soy sauce and worcestershire sauce and rice pizza crust. more

Whole Foods 9/22/2005

Everytime I am in the area, I always have to stop by Whole Food and sample all of the products that they have. They have an excellent selection of organic fruits and vegetable. The sales people are always helpful and they steer you towards alot of great food. Its wonderful. the store is always well kept and very clean. Lines are not too long because the cahsiers are great. A bit on the pricy side but its well worth it. more

Food to Go 7/15/2005

The main reason I shop at Whole Foods is for the ready made food. I LOVE their soups. My favorites are the tomato, potatoe + leek, and all the salmon "stews". They also have great pizza (with unbelievable crust), and sandwiches. I love their tuna sandwiches the best. As for grocery type foods, I don't usually come here to do that sort of shopping. If you're on your lunch break, and you work near Whole Foods, I recommend coming here and grabbing a quick (but fulfilling) bite to eat. I promise you, if you take my word for it, you won't regret it! more
