White Salon

I agree with the previous two comments. White needs to focus on retaining clients rather than getting new clients. They're offering deals to get you in the door, while charging their loyal customers more to make up for it. Their service has also gotten worst. Seems to me that when the price goes up, so should the quality of work- not the case here. Plus, I've never met the owner but what i can tell from the other reviews, he cares more about his staff than he does his customers. which is good for his staff, but for a service organization he should act more professional and defend his clients, and actually care what they have to say. My advice is dont give into the deals to get you in the door- you'll only have to find a new place after a year any way. Not worth it!! more

I'm guessing I have been put in the same position as the girl below me. This salon seems to have taken a nose-dive. The salon seemed to have a great vibe, but my past visit was terrible. Customer service seems to have gone out the window. I noticed a lot of new faces, maybe that's why. On my last visit an assistant shampooed me, drenching the back of my top. I felt rushed and ignored overall. I can't justify going back anymore with the cost, crappy customer service and just "all right" hair. more

I've been going here for several years and had a disappointing experience about a month ago. For starters, they went up in their price significantly (by 13%) my guess is to help make up for all of the groupons they were offering. Then, they were running a little behind and I felt like they rushed through my coloring so that they werent late for their next appointment. As a result, my highlights- that are normally thin and natural looking- were thick, chunky, and not-natural. I then waited 45 minutes (which should have been reduced with the hot cap they normally use, but weren't) to have my hair roughly washed and water splashed everywhere by what i guess is a hair assistant. Overall, not worth the money, especially with the increase. Sadly, I will be looking for another place to get my hair done. more

I bought a groupon from White's and went yesterday to get a cut and highlights. I walked into a very contemporary, young atmosphere. To say the least I said to my self "I am way to old to be here". A young man with long hair and tattoos greeted me warmly and introduced himself as John. We worked out a plan for my hair and he proceeded to do exactly as I hoped. I enjoyed our conversation during the process and was very pleased with the results as was my family. I will definitely go back to John and White's. I live in the Woodlands so it is a trek but I think it was worth it. Thanks, John more

After relocating to Houston I was very nervous to find a new stylist after 6 loyal years with my previous stylist. Alison made the entire experience lovely. She listened to my needs and made sure I was comfortable throughout the color and cut. She even dealt with me being the neurotic customer who brought in my color formula from my old salon! Everyone was very pleasant and I am happy to have a new salon to call home! more

Ashley greeted me right on time for our consultation with a warm smile. Everyone was so welcoming! We talked a few minutes about my hair, what I was hoping for, then she brought out samples of color and told me how she envisioned my request.. Together we chose some great highlights and the taming of my wild hair began its journey to serenity. I was so relaxed during my shampoo and treatment, the head massage was FAB! When she finished blow drying, I felt like a new girl, ready to face the wild world in a new and much improved look and mood. I bought a Groupon and my stylist was David Michael. I have been looking for someone who could cut short hair and highlights for someone with a bit of grey. I am very picky about my cut and color and I have spent a small fortune looking for the 'right' look for someone feeling 25 but turning 55. David was truly the best colorist I have ever had. I explained to him what I thought I wanted and he took my look to a whole new level. I will continue going to David Michael as long as I live in Houston! I did not havea good experience at this salon. The heavilty tatooed young man gave me a below average cut and the color was just horrible! Large swathes of dark hair were visible. My husband who never notices anything made several negative comments. I fixed the color myself at home. The owner seems to be a nice guy but his staff leaves much to desired. more

I can't tell you how many times i have spent over $100 on a cut and color job and walked out of the place feeling unsatisfied - sure the person did what I asked, but somehow it wasn't what I had pictured in my head... So when I moved to Houston, I decided to try White Salon. The stylist I got was Allison, and she is amazing. Everytime I ask her to do something, she does exactly what I ask for. I walk out of there feeling like a million bucks, because well at least my hair looks that way :-) The staff is extremely nice and you can drink and relax while getting your hair done. I have been a cut and highlight client of Whitney at White Salon for nearly two years now and she does an excellent job of listening and creating the look you are going for. I have never left the salon disappointed and feel very comfortable recommending her. I believe the pricing is very reasonable, the atmosphere is comfortable and modern, and I look forward to continuing to use White Salon in the future! more

The salon experience from start to finish was very friendly, welcoming, and comfortable. I had the $99 Groupon for the conditioning treatment, haircut, and highlights. Over 10 years had passed since my last highlighting experience, and I was ready for a major change. Ashley, my assigned stylist, listened to my requests, and entertained me as I showed her mutliple pictures from magazines and the internet. She crafted a creative hybrid of my requests, some of which was suprisingly tailored for my style. My only slight criticism was that she couldn't quite pull of what I wanted for my bangs...though that may have been my fault (at not explaining it well enough). Ashley gets 5 stars, though, for her attentiveness and skill. The 4 stars for the overall rating is mainly due to the fact that I'm not sure I will be able to afford their "regular" prices to maintain this look. I'm happy I tried it though. Sometimes you just need a change, and the Groupon was a fantastic deal. If only it weren't for first time customers only...hmmm...(daydream here). I do recommend this as a high quality salon, though. You won't be disappointed, in my opinion. more

If I could give White Salon a 10-star rating, I would! Every experience I have had with their staff/stylists makes me feel as though I am the center of attention and always welcome. They take the time to get to know their clients, understand what they want and what makes them feel beautiful/handsome and work diligently to ensure that their clients are pleased every step of the way. They care about their professionalism so much that they groom their stylists through continuing education, bring in top talent interns that learn every facet of the business and maintain a front desk team that is beyond helpful. I'm always excited when I go because I know that I am going to be on cloud 9 when I leave because I feel beautiful. I'm extremely proud to call them my friends as well as my stylists! more

I went to White Salon solely based on the reviews I had read. You see, I am very picky when it comes to haircuts & hairdressers. Needless to say, I walked out of White Salon very happy & satisfied with my haircut and service. Ashley was very attentive to what and how I wanted my haircut. I trust her to cut my hair in future - a big commitment for me! Will definitely return in a couple of weeks. more

I have moved around the US many times...and finding a great salon is the hardest thing to do. This salon tops any salon I went to in Los Angeles, CA! Absolutely love Allison. She makes you beautiful and she treats you first class. I feel special every time. All the employees are very customer friendly and give great cutomer service. Gerry runs a tight ship to put it mildly. If the stylists don't measure up to his high standards, they aren't there for long. I've gone to White since it opened...Gerry was my stylist. Gerry has retired to focus on running the salon and guiding its growth. They don't do mani/pedis but they do just about everything else that makes you look good and feel good. I trust my stylist, John, so completely that after the initial chit chat and discussion of current hair needs, I close my eyes and enjoy the attention he lavishes on me. John's got rock star good looks (he's in a band) and he's an artist with scissors and "product". I think I might be older than White's average client but they don't make me feel like it. I had a great experience at White Salon. My hair changed a lot after having my daughters, and I needed a new style to accommodate that. David Michael, my stylist, had really good ideas and I think my hair looks awesome! The staff at the front desk are also very friendly. Highly recommended! more

I found White Salon through Groupon (it was my first time to try Groupon and so glad I did.) The staff was welcoming, but not overly so. The salon is clean and sharp. Ashley was my stylist and she listen to what I wanted, asking throughout the process did I have any preferences and discussing it with me, something I really appreciated. She was fun to talk with and made the time alot of fun. The cut was perfect, something I have been looking for, and the color was more than I expected. It was obvious she listen to what I wanted, because in the end, it was perfect! As for the Groupon, no hidden surprises. I was never given the sale-up routine. I walked out owing nothing more after submitting the Groupon when I walked in. So my first experience with Groupon will probably NOT be my last. Highly Recommend; I plan to return! more

Kerry has been cutting my hair, my hubbys, and my neighbors hair for about 2 years. She is super sweet and talented. The salon is great - staff, environment, products, you name it. Highly recommend it! more
