Not what we expected 3/4/2010

Teachers don't teach the children anything. No learning in the curriculum and it's all just plain time-pass culture. For the price you pay for fees and all the extra services (they plead you to purchase), it's very low class service being provided here. We also saw families and kids who dont buy extra services are treated unequally. We will not send our next child there, also if asked - will not recommend this to any of our friends. No value addition for kids. Pros: okay play area and easy access Cons: No education, only attempt is being about getting more money more

Love this preschool! 12/17/2008

What a great preschool! We feel very fortunate to have our son in this top-notch preschool. WHEE Preschool is a great mix of learning, creativity and nurturing. The teachers are caring, kind and truly enjoy being with the children. Most of them have been around for many years and are dedicated to providing a fabulous social and learning environment for the children. The director of WHEE Preschool is approachable, supportive and very knowledgeable about early education. Our son thoroughly enjoys attending this preschool and is the first to hop in the car to go. He comes home with new songs, creative art and a great sense of pride, self-confidence and stories of friendships. Pros: Wonderful learning environment and creative play, caring and knowledgeable staff, great facility Cons: NONE! more

Wonderful preschool 12/17/2008

I am a practicing pediatic nurse and a mother. We have been part of the Whee Preschool family for three years and will be very sad when my youngest leaves to go to Kindergarten. Both of my children had the same teachers during their time at Whee Preschool which has offered consistency for a wonderful learning environment. This nonprofit shcool is able to bring in teachers for Spanish, music and the occassional puppeteer. The children and my family have loved our experience at Whee Preschool and would highly recommend this school. Cons: Friendly and caring environment, great staff, great parent involvement more

A Great Place for Preschoolers 12/12/2008

Our son attended WHEE preschool starting at 3 years for two years. He now is in K in an academically rigorous charter school and is doing very well. I chose this preschool after visiting a dozen as it was the best fit, right from the start my son took to it, it has a wonderful vibe, the staff are happy and dedicated, staff turnover is extremely low, and the program is well-thought out. For both years our son always looked forward to going to preschool. When I dropped him off he would eagerly run into his classroom. When I picked him up after lunch bunch he was ready to come home. The staff do an extraordinary job and the principal manages to make every dollar of this non-profit go towards creating a top-notch preschool. If you are looking for an academic preschool that will prepare your child for kindergarten so that your child will be bored in K for the first six months, this is not the place for you. As a culture we tend to overschedule our young children and not give them the downtime they need. WHEE gives each child plenty of space to grow at its most comfortable rate. If you value play and agree that children learn best through play, you have found your preschool. Pros: dedicated staff, strong community, involved and caring parents more

WHEE is awesome!! 12/7/2008

As an educator, I am thrilled with the program offered at WHEE Preschool. We have been a family at WHEE for the last 4 years and could not be more satisfied. The teachers create a positive environment for the children to explore and develop social skills and age appropriate academics. My children love the cooking projects, the music teacher, and the Spanish teacher but it is their primary teachers that are truly remarkable have made a lasting impression on their lives. The community of WHEE families has become an important part of our lives, we have made life long friends during our time there. Pros: Great staff and quality environment more

Excellcent Preschool 12/5/2008

I could not DISAGREE more with the other review! The reviewer said that the teachers ""do not teach the children anything"". Really? That has not been my experience. I have my second child in Whee and as an educator myself, find their curriculum to be exactly what 3, 4 and 5 year olds need. Although it appears to be ""play"" there is a specific reason for everything presented to the children from appropriate socialization, to fine motor development (essential for pre-writing). Obviously, as their time at Whee progresses, the children encounter more reading and writing (I notice the reviewer posted in October, still a transitional time for a 3 year old). I am extremely impressed with the level of experience and education of the Whee staff. I feel my kids are more than prepared for elementary school, but more importantly, my kids love learning. Pros: Experienced, caring staff. Cons: NONE! more

not what i expected 10/22/2008

The school has nice classrooms but the teachers do not teach the children anything. I think there should be more curriculum based learning not daycare-ish playtime all day. For the price you pay and all the extras they want you to purchase ( they make you feel guilty if you don't) gift cards, fund raisers, and more. I think that the children would be learning to write and maybe pre reading. The school over all is ok but i would not send my next child there. Pros: nice play area Cons: not learning, daycare like, they only care about getting money from you more
