Editorial review from Citysearch 5/16/2014

The only good thing about this place, and it is a big deal, is the office staff. Elisha is AWESOME and will be in my families prayers for years to come. Our dog got out of our yard, was missing for a day and a half and got hit by a car. Due to my ad on craigslist, and Elisha looking online and finding it, and contacting me, we were able to get him back. Everyone else in the office is great, including the very helpful orderly that helped me get my 80 lb dog with a broken leg in the car. Now, to the reason for only two stars. The doctor we met was the rudest, most accusatory, inhospitable ""caregiver"" we have ever had the displeasure of meeting. To tell someone that they can give them all of the money they have in their pocket, then we'll ""release"" your dog to you, but without pain medication, or you can call someone to see if they'll pay half for you and we'll keep him here overnight medicated for his comfort. REALLY?!?!?!?! A veterinarian using the comfort of an animal as leverage to receive payment????? In short, it is a real shame that such a wonderful office staff has to work for such a cruel person. If you care about your animal, take it to someone who cares in Las Vegas, there are plenty of vets that care about animals and their owners. more

They've lost it. 5/27/2012

This is a mixed emotions review. I've been taking my dog, which has serious health issues, to these folks for 5 years. The staff is and has always been amazing, polite and helpful. They love my dog and animals generally. That's the good news.\r \r The bad news is that in the last 2 years or so, the attentiveness, quality, and follow-up of vet care (diagnosis, treatment, fulfilling requests) has fallen through the floor. They used to spend considerable time during my visit, provide discounts without my asking, and unfailingly call later to follow up. All of that has disappeared. My dog has crippling issues now, I don't make myself a bother with them, but I have gone in to see about a new plan for him. Most recently, I was pawned off on a less experienced vet who had zero treatment suggestions, said she'd call back after consulting with her "mentor," and then never did. I also asked for a written prescription for anti-inflammatories, which she declined to do. The cost of meds he more

They used to spend considerable time during my visit, provide discounts without my asking, and unfailingly call later to follow up. All of that has disappeared. My dog has crippling issues now, I don't make myself a nuisance with them, but I went in recently to see about a new plan for him., possibly pain meds, etc I was pawned off on a less experienced vet who had zero treatment suggestions, my primary doc said ""hello"" and walked on, the newer vet said she'd call back after consulting with her ""mentor,"" and then never did. Nobody did. I also asked for a written prescription for anti-inflammatories, which she declined to do. The cost of meds here is HIGH, plus I don't want to come in every month when his is a lifelong ailment. So it's thumbs up for the staff and a big thumbs down for the decline in pet care, diagnosis, and follow up. I've paid thousands upon thousands here over the years, but they've gotten my last dime. Moving on. more

I came to know West Flamingo Animal Hospital ten years ago by way of an emergency. My ShihTzu had been recently spayed by another clinic that had done a poor job and the incision split open just as we were going to bed. In the middle of the night, I was lucky enough to find West Flamingo Animal Hospital, Dr Gross and Dr Yach. We raced to the clinic where they immediately took my puppy as an overnight patient in an attempt to save her life. It was touch and go for days, as they explained that bacteria could enter the open wound and cause death. The doctors showed great concern over my pet's health, all the while with compassion and honesty. Dr Chris Yach and Dr Gross are excellent diagnosticians and surgeons, and they saved my dog?s life that night. I immediately moved my entire furry family?s records to West Flamingo Animal Hospital. In the years since, every doctor at West Flamingo Animal Hospital has treated my pets, and I have found all of them to be knowledgeable and on the cutting-edge of the newest technology and ideas. The doctors always return my calls the same day, and always call my home after any procedure to check on my pet. This is a warm and friendly place that treats your pets like they?d treat their own. The doctors and staff are genuine animal lovers - - they put so much `care? into their work. I won?t ever take my pets anywhere else :) I would recommend Dr. Yach and West Flamingo Animal Hospital - 100% - to all pet owners in the greater Las Vegas and Henderson areas!! more

been going to doc yach for years 5/24/2011

we've been taking all our critters to ""doc yach"" for years now. our dogs are our children, and the doc and his staff have always come through. we spare no expense, ""putting them down"" is just not an option for us, unless it's simply inhumane to keep them going. they never flinch at preforming a surgery or providing additional care, and the treatment has always been great. we've been coming here for over a decade. you can trust them. more

Sympathetic vets, and office staff 10/15/2007

My cat became ill suddenly and we were referred to this vet hospital when we checked out of the emergency vet clinic. The vets were very understanding and tried to explain what was wrong with the cat. The only complaints were their computer system kept failing and it was difficult to get updates while the cat was in the hospital. Eventually we had to put the kitty to sleep. The staff was very patient letting us spend our last moments with the cat. They have built in a nice system so you can leave the clinic without having to stop at the desk on the way out- which is nice when you are sad and don't really feel like talking to anyone. They also have excellent hours on nights and weekends. Pros: nice staff, convenient hours Cons: expensive (only due to the extensive care our cat had) more

The Best Vet in Las Vegas 7/28/2005

Dr. Christopher Yach is the best vet in Las vegas. He loves his patients. This is one of the best places in las vegas to board your pet too. When I pick up my dogs from boarding, they are exhausted from all of the playing they did while they were there. more
