My wife and I purchased a low mileage 2006 Accord LX from them in Oct 2009 at a very reasonable price. As we were closing the deal, we were offered an extended warranty for $2138 that would cover repairs for 4 years or 100K miles. I'm usually very skeptical of these 'add-on' warranties and usually decline, but the dealership was offering a 100% Money Back Guarantee if no claims were filed against the extended warranty. I reasoned that if the car needed major repairs, the warranty would come in handy. If no repairs were ever needed, we would get our $2138 back. Seemed like a safe idea. \r \r WRONG!\r \r As the 4 year period of the guarantee was approaching, we contacted the dealership to verify the conditions for receiving our money back. On paper, we were required to show up at the dealership in person (no-problem), still own the car (we still do), and have no repair claims against the warranty (none needed). At first, the dealership passed us off to the extended warranty company. We called the dealership again and explained to them the money back guarantee was made by the dealership and not the warranty company. The Business Manager, Jaime Burkhard, told us that the dealership that made the guarantee was Stephen Vincel Honda and that the dealership had since changed hands to West County Honda. In short, the new dealership would no longer honor the guarantee! If we wanted to pursue this, he recommended that we get a lawyer. \r \r This was very disappointing! I realize $2138 isn't a huge sum of money and no lawyer would touch this for free. I also had problems with their logic behind not honoring the guarantee. If I owed $2138 to Steven Vincel Honda, would West County Honda not expect me to pay? If a painter had painted the Stephen Vincel Honda showroom for $2138 just before the sale, would West County Honda be expected to pay? When one business purchases another business, don't they purchase both assets and debts? If the buying business gets to pick-and-choose which debts they will honor that seems to be a pretty sweet deal for the buying business. In the end, we expected West County Honda to 'do the right thing'. They did not and we are disappointed. Please be careful when dealing with them so you don't get cheated as well. more

STAY AS FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE.\r I've had, not only the worst car buying experience but the worst customer service experience ever with these guys. Long story short, these guys were selling a used car that was in no condition to be sold. And on top of that, they DO NOT RETURN PHONE CALLS!\r \r When I was test driving the vehicle, I noticed a slight rubbing or whirring noise from the rear left tire. They assured me it was probably just a rotor or brake pad rubbing and I, seeing as how they had just serviced the vehicle, gave them the benefit of the doubt and ended up making a deal for the car that night (Friday night). They provided me with a ""We Owe You"" slip and told me someone would contact me to bring the car in that week. I ended dropping the car off on Thursday of the following week. After waiting in the waiting room an hour and a half, the service tech came and told me they were going to be put me in a car because they needed to keep mine. He mentioned it was more serious than they thought, some sort of problem with the rear differential. He told me himself or the used car manager would get in touch with me later in the day. The day goes by, no call. I wait until Friday after work, still no call so I pick up the phone and call. The service advisor tells me he gave everything over to the used car manager, not sure why, and he would be calling me shortly. Again, no call that night. I call back on Saturday, rather frustrated, trying to find out what's going on. The gentleman that picks up the phone in the service department tells me I need to talk to Nikki. He puts me into her voicemail of course... fortunately she calls me back shortly and tells me they sent my car to a transmission shop to see if the rear differential needs to be replaced or rebuilt. She says she will call me that day (Saturday) or Monday at the latest. Of course, she does not call either day. I call Monday after work and get put into her voicemail. I call back later that same night, upset, and get bounced around to a number of individuals. I finally get in touch with the original service advisor who tells me they're supposed to hear from the transmission shop by Tuesday (next day) at noon and they would be in touch with me shortly after. I get a call Tuesday afternoon from the service advisor and he says they're going to rebuild it and it should be done by Thursday or Friday. I get a call late in the afternoon Friday saying its now going to be Tuesday before its complete. I'm livid. I call the dealership and ask for the sales manager and get voicemail of course. I explain in my voicemail my frustration and that I would really like to discuss returning the vehicle (not unreasonable at this point, in my opinion) and as of Monday morning, I have not been called back... of course.\r \r By the way, my salesman was nice enough to deal with during the buying process. He told me if I had any problems after the deal, to let him know and he would go to bat for me. I called him the day after I dropped the car off to see if he could help find out what's going on. He told me as soon as he got into work that day he would find out what was going on. I never heard from him, even after I called and left him a voicemail Friday evening.\r \r One of the most basic tenets of customer service is to call your customer back when you say you're going to call them back, something this dealership has consistently failed to do. Also, I'm not sure if they were naive about the condition of the car or hoping the customer was, either way this has been a nightmarish used car buying experience.\r \r Specific people I would highly avoiding... Brian (Service), Mark (Service), Nikki (Service), Corey (Used Car Sales), David Hesse (Sales Manager).\r \r By the way, I'm writing the review a week and a half after dropping my car off and I still do not have my car back. At this point, they have had it for longer than I have, as the owner of this vehicle. more

West County Honda has outstanding customer service and they went above and beyond to provide me with a beautiful Honda Accord. They were friendly, helpful and did not pressure me to purchase a car. Instead they asked me questions about what I was looking for and what things were important to me in a vehicle. Then, they took that information and began showing me different possibilities that would fit the needs I described. They truly worked to earn my business. Brett Donaldson, the sales agent I dealt with was extremely knowledgeable about the cars on his lot and about Honda products in general. more

In the past year or so I have actually purchased 3 cars from West County Honda and every time I have been in I have had an amazing experience. I originally went to them after dealing with some EXTREMELY rude people at Bommarrito Honda. We traded in our Grand Prix on a new Crosstour and were given more than we thought we would get on our trade. The salesman Brandon was extremely helpful. Plus while he was helping me everyone else was so nice getting us water and more. When we came back for my truck and to buy our son his first car we once again dealt with Brandon and were extremely well taken care of. Also we have all of our vehicles serviced through the dealership and always feel very well taken care of! I wholeheartedly reccomend this dealership to all my friends! more

I have bought numerous cars in my lifetime and have dealt with all types of dealers but I have never had as good of an experience as I have had at West County Honda. After dealing with some VERY rude people at Bommarito Honda I decided to take my business to West County Honda with a very specific car in mind. I called ahead and they already had it waiting for me sparkling clean like new when I arrived. After the test drive we started working on the paperwork and it was a super simple friendly process. I actually even ended up getting more for my trade than I thought I would. I would definitely recommend their sales department and since I have been getting my car serviced through them as well the same goes for service Just top notch all the way around more

lowest prices in town and the owner works here 4/14/2012

Hi - I hate dealerships and car salesmen. it was so nice dealing with a woman AND IF YOU'RE A WOMAN YOU KNOW WHAT I REALLY MEAN. I just got my Accord from west county honda and they were awesome. I didn't have to play those silly salespeople games. I went thru the internet department got there rock bottom price came in and got my car. How refreshing! And you know the owner Bill was even there. I always say if the owner is at his business it's all good. You know that typical walk in the car dealership and find a bunch of old men sitting around b.s. Not here Ciara greeted me right away and she even lifted the hood up and showed me my dip sticks. allelujah! I LOVE THIS PLACE THANKS CIARA! XOXO more

beware west county honda 3/28/2012

i never bought a car from west county honda but i did work there a short time.... all i can say after working there is i would never buy a car from these a**holes. they are arrogant, rude and incompetent. they where supposed to train the ""right way"", well i don't know what the right way is but it's not their way!!! i would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! BEWARE DO NOT BUY OR WORSE APPLY FOR A JOB AT WEST COUNTY HONDA!!!! more

Beware the thieves 3/28/2012

I did business with these people when they were Stephen Vincel and I liked them then. However the new owners are not even close to the former. My sister in law bought a car from them 2 days ago and they tried to tell her the price was bottom line and then the tried to give her $500 off she refused and once again they tried the same offer only phrased differently- like we can't do math. In the end she got the price she wanted but the finance people rushed her through and would not even listen to her when she wanted to go through her credit union. They stuck her with a 5.87% loan when she could have had a 2.7% loan if the rude hurry up credit boy would not listen. Do not deal with these people they will screw you. more

Best Sales Consulting Staff in St.Louis 3/9/2012

I am a recent college graduate and was looking at new cars with my parents over the weekend. We spent days scouring over used cars lots and wasting time with pushy salesman, until we arrived at West County Honda. We were greeted firsthand by a Honda Consultant and my parents were treated to free coffee, water, and snacks! The entire experience was very pleasant and we felt very comfortable purchasing the new 2012 Honda Civic Si. The car has surpassed my expectations and I love my new sporty civic! I suggest everyone make it a priority to stop by West County Honda and test drive the new Honda's, they are AWESOME! more

Good experience 2/29/2012

I normally don't write reviews but I felt obligated to after I came accross all of these negative reviews. Perhaps people are more likely to write negative than positive reviews because they expect excellence or these reviews were done by the competition. I had a good experience with West County Honda. They kept their word and had the best price on a new Honda Oddysey. Also, I believe I dealt with Bill, the old guy with the spikey grey hair, and he was great with us. Also I will use my real name, MItchell Davis, to show I am not a plant. Sincerely, Mitchell Davis. more

Warning! Stay away from West County Honda. 12/7/2011

Yikes! This is definitely not the old Steven Vincel Honda. Buy or have your car serviced elsewhere. I wish I had read the reviews here and elsewhere before I took the slimy plunge. more

Total crooks - how do they get to wear the Honda name? 11/4/2011

DON'T GO HERE! We've never been to a more crooked dealership! Our leasing representative actually changed the numbers on our paperwork after we signed the deal. CHANGED THE NUMBERS! What a CROOK! When we caught it, the sales manager refused to correct the error. The guy still works there - he probably got a special sales commission. We had to hire a lawyer and file a complaint with Honda. more

Hands down the worst car dealer in Missouri 9/20/2011

You should be very careful dealing with these people. They will tell you one thing and then do something completely different. We spent the better part of six hours trying to buy a car. I have never been so jerked around as I was with these people. The owner and his staff lack the skills necessary to run a business. So if your treated this way up front just imagine what it will be like to get your car serviced. Oh by the way don't bank on getting a return call from either the owner or the finance manager. more

worst customer service..worst dealership ever 8/2/2011

The sales people there need to take special lessons on something called Professional Ethics and basic lessons on not saying LIES Reasons to avoid them 1. They LIE LIE and LIE about everything. 2. They know nothing about treating a customer right. Stay away from them. more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER 7/5/2011

Pay attention to the title of my review. They will lie to you again and again. more

Worst car dealer I've ever dealt with 6/16/2011

This is one of the worst car dealerships I've ever been to. They will repeatedly try to add in hidden fees, throw curveballs at you, promise one thing and do another, and overall just treat you like crap. Trying to reach anyone to do anything results in a head-ache as they always are in ""meetings"" or have places to be. Open until 9 pm they say? Only if they can steal some of your money as you walk through the door. I've had to even consider getting a lawyer with how bad they are. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM. more
