Please think twice about going to this place 12/18/2011

I can not go into detail at this time but the vets here dont have a clue as to what they are doing. Just say my dog would be alive today if I took her elsewhere. I would never take the time to sign up for an account to tell you a lie. The vets here dont care about your dog, only your bank account. Please dont let what happened to me happen to you. more

outstanding and caring service 3/31/2011

This vet has provided my animals with outstanding and caring service for the past 10 years. They cured a puppy I had picked up who had parvo virus, and made sure I was able to protect my other dog from exposure during the treatment process. They remind me when vaccines and check-ups are due, and they are extremely flexible when my crowded schedule requires last-minute changes of appointment times. I could definitely take my pets to more expensive places closer to my house. I choose to stay with this vet because of the quality of the services offered. more

Finest, most complete pet care Dr. Kempf, thanks for making my life easy when it comes to bringing Luke in to the see you! Although, I think he may have a crush! I am convinced it's a crush! But how could any four-legged creature resist? In all seriousness, thanks for providing Luke and me the finest. most complete pet care available . . . with a lot of love. I have seen a lot of vets in the past and your genuine love and care is truly rare. more

I would not go anywhere else! 12/31/2010

Love this place! Every time I go in, they are always friendly and cheerful. The clinic is always clean and orderly. The doctor always explains everything to me so that I understand, and makes sure I understand every charge that I am paying so there are no surprises at the register. And they always treat my pets with dignity and compassion. I would not go anywhere else! more

Very satisfied with the service and price. 12/7/2010

I began to notice that my ragdoll, Molly, was urinating blood. When I got to the vet, I was warmly greeted. Molly was seen by Dr. Carney. She did a thorough exam of Molly, asked me a few questions about her diet and habits. They ran a couple of blood and urine tests and told me it was just a urinary tract infection. I was so relieved! We were given some antibiotics and I was able to take Molly home, safe and sound. more

very helpful and understanding 11/25/2010

I was dog sitting for a friend while she was out of town on vacation. I have never owned a dog before in my life, and my house is not dog-proof. I left the dog alone for an hour and a half while I went out to lunch, and came back to find Angel had gone through the trash can and eaten everything he could find. I had no idea what to do! I rushed him down to the clinic. The staff was really nice and did a great job of calming me down. Angel was checked out by Dr. Kempf. He ran a few tests to make sure Angel didn't get into anything too serious. Dr. Kempf spoke with me for a while to talk about how to make my home safer for Angel. Not too shabby. And now that Angle will live (thanks to the help of Dr. Kempf and West Charleston Animal Hospital), I get to live to see another day too! more

Exceptional Service 4/17/2010

I've gone to this vet 2x now and have seen Dr Kempf for my 2 lab/shepherd mix dogs. He has been very professional and took the time to explain to me what he was doing and why. In addition, the friendliness of the staff is unparalleled. The ladies behind the counter have greeted my dogs with such warmness and love and have treated me with such professionalism. I found this vet by calling around and pricing my first puppy's shots and found them to be the most reasonable. In addition they keep office hours on Sundays which is worth my business as often I am in the office Monday-Saturday. As if there need be anymore selling points, I have personally been in the back and seen the kennel area on my first visit and can attest to the cleanliness. My dogs HATE the groomers and only tolerate the dog parks but love coming to the vet. I will continue to be a customer here. Pros: Great Vet more

Dr. Cravens is Amazing! 12/27/2009

I have been seeing Dr. Cravens with all of my dogs for almost 2 years now and she has been nothing but wonderful. I find her bedside manner to be one of her strongest qualities. I have used her for both surgery and vaccines and have been nothing but happy. I would (and have) recommend her to anyone. more

Beware of Cindy Cravens at WCAH or anywhere else you see her name. 9/11/2009

I allowed this vet to see my puppy when her doctor was not in. Very poor bedside manner. She wanted to repeat tests that I felt was unnecessary for a Dx. I am a RN and understand lots of illnesses that dogs have are no different that what humans have. When I refused the costly test that she wanted to do, she refudsed to treat her, which resulted in me following up with her primary vet. I will never see her again, nor will I tell anyone that she exists. more

This place is GREAT 9/8/2009

I have lived around the US, and then, Chicago, and then when living in Vegas took my dog here. I have recently moved to CA, but I can assure Anyone that asks, nationwide this place is top notch. My dog is my life and I would only want him to have the best. The people, knowledge, and service here is the best you will find. Pros: Amazing service more

Wonderful Experiences--Very caring doctors 8/25/2009

Surprised at the number of negative reviews on what I feel is a great veterinary office. I have gone to many vets over the years and this is definately one of the best practices. I currently have two dogs and a cat that I bring to WCAH regularly and I board the dogs there when I travel. The doctors are incredibly caring, especially my personal experiences with Drs. Cravens, Wanous and Carney. Their expertise and love of animals is obvious. My dogs don't mind going to the offices for regular checkups or boarding, and when they are picked up they are fine. These dogs would not want to go back if there was any mistreatment. The front office personnel are always very friendly. I had a third dog, a doberman, prior to my recent two rescues who was diagnosed with DCM and was referred to specialists by this office for his final months of life. The sincere care my dog received then sold me 100% on this office and is reinforced with each subsequent visit with my new additions. Pros: Vets are very caring more

LOVE THIS PLACE!! 8/14/2009

We have bringing our pets to West Charleston for 2 years now. They have always been friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Our animals are definitely part of our family and the cost is never too much for the high quality care we have gotten here. Last month, our shih tzu began throwing up and the doctor came in at 1 am to help her. Turns out, she had eaten one of my children's toy and it was stuck in the stomach, not allowing food to pass. They took her into surgery immediately to remove it and she is now a happy, healthy puppy. I cannot thank them enough for the care given both to me and my baby. This place is excellent! Pros: doctors, staff, location more

I have 2 beagles that are 4 and 3 years old now, and they have been patients of Doc Jones since they were both 9 to 11 weeks. The care that they have received from Doc Jones has been incredible! Both beagles, Sheeza and Buster Brown, have been in for regular visits for shots as well as a couple emergencies, and have always been treated with kindness, love and tenderness like these 2 were his own dogs! I have called in over the phone to get some quick advice and some relief for my babies when I could not take them in, and have always been given accurate information as well as they have been willing to help. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITAL TO ANYONE WHO CARES ABOUT THEIR PETS LIKE I DO!! Pros: Always Helpful Cons: I don't have any cons more
