Weldon Barber-Best haircut ever had! 12/15/2010

Weldon Barber is truly the best place in the Seattle area to go for a haircut. I walked in and a nice gal came up to me and offered me a beverage of my choice. Unlike other places I have been to, the receptionist was actually smiling! Shortly after my stylist called my name- She was friendly, classy and she too, was smiling the whole time. She leaned me back into the sink and gave me a great shampoo, followed by the best part...a relaxing scalp massage. Not only was my stylist a great conversationalist, she gave me a fantastic haircut! She actually cared about what I thought and made my hair look great. The best part was the next few time I went there I had a different stylist then the first time and my haircut was just as good. Weldon Barber is consistent and by far your best option! more

Not even worth the curiosity 4/20/2008

For a while now I've been looking for a lower-cost alternative to the Gene Juarez Men's Salon in Bellevue. As an Issaquah resident, I noticed Weldon every time I went to Home Depot and decided to give it a try.\r \r The initial experience is impressive - the hot towels on my face and the scalp message. But that's as good as it got. I went into some detail about how I wanted my hair done. The stylist even complimented me on how descriptive I was compared to most men she had worked on. And yet it was as if she didn't hear a word I said. She proceeded to do exactly what I asked her not to do.\r \r I told her I wanted my hair short, but didn't want the buzz-cut look. She then took the clippers and butchered my hair to the top of my head. And because it was so short on the sides and back of my head, she had to cut a significant length off the top just to make it blend. She cut a good two inches of length off the top of my head! I now look like I just got out of army boot camp (no offense to anyone in the military, it's just not my look). \r \r At the end of the day, it's just hair and I know it will grow back. That's why I didn't make a big deal of it when I was at the store. But what bothers me is that Weldon goes the great lengths to highlight the ""experience,"" but isn't able to execute on the actual haircut - which is why I went there in the first place. Furthermore, it ended up being only $5 less than what I pay at the Men's Salon at Gene Juarez.\r \r I think most men really do care about the quality of their haircut. And for guys like us, it's probably worth it to spend a little more. Just make sure you're actually paying for the haircut, and not just a fancy-looking SuperCuts. \r \r \r Pros: Good ambience; liked the hot towel treatment Cons: Not a good haircut more

Great Extras, Horrible Cut 7/24/2007

I am in Issaquah for the summer - and went here for a haircut based on a local magazine review. The hot towels, the scalp massage, the dual rinse - they are all great. The only problem - it was the worst haircut I have ever had in the last 5 years.\r \r I asked for just one thing - to make sure my hair did not stand straight up. Twenty five minutes later, the one thing my hair did was stand straight up. It was cut way too short in parts - unevenly. When I got home, I also found that the hair around my ears had been trimmed very poorly. \r \r I had to get another haircut two days later - absolutely horrible job the first time around. I have not had such a bad haircut since I first came to the US, did not know any better, and ended up at a Supercuts.\r \r These guys should be moving lawns, not cutting hair. Pros: Great extras Cons: Horrible haircut more
