I could not get the pilot to light on my water heater and called Weilhammer Plumbing who had installed the water heater several years earlier. Before incurring a service call and associated cost, Weilhammer Plumbing suggested I call the gas company because they were aware of a problem the gas company had the day before which caused a decrease in gas pressure. I called the gas company and the problem was with their service, not the water heater. I appreciated Weilhammer's help in avoiding the cost of their service call. They also assured me that if it was not a gas company issue, they would still respond that same day to fix the water heater if needed.
