Waterworks

I had the worst customer service experience at Waterworks of any establishment in all of Tallahassee! The owner was rude to my friends and me for absolutely no reason. He accused my friend of littering (we were actually picking up trash in the parking lot and looking for a can) and yelled at us (yes, actually yelled!) regarding a variety of other issues. We were quiet, polite guests, and I can't imagine why he thought he needed to approach us like troublemakers! I was excited about this being a potential hangout because the inside is smoke-free, but they treated us like crap and they won't be getting our business ever again. more

This small bar is located in "Midtown" (on the south end of Thomasville before it ends at Monroe). Both outside and in Waterworks is a cute and quirky tiki-style bar that provides a good place to hang out with friends, chat at the bar, or dance to the eclectic music. The crowd depends on the night, but most are 20-somethings either finishing school or starting careers. Unfortunately the bar isn't very well ventilated and when it is packed the smoke is intense enough to bother me (and I smoke). The good news is that on the other side of the building is a smoke-free lounge. I have only spent a few minutes in there though, as I wasn't a fan of the ambient/creepy music they were playing and there was hardly anyone else in there. Waterworks is one of those fun quirky places that is fun to meet your girlfriends (or guyfriends) and begin your night on the town. more
