After being rear ended by one of the many infamous Utah drivers on the road, I decided to take my Mazda 626 here based on good recommendations from others. I live in Provo and I drove by a lot of other body shops on my way to Wasatch. I am a mechanic and I have a sharp eye for detail when it comes to body work. I have seen a lot of bad body work in my life - paint that doesn't match or peels/chips/fades easily, body panels that don't line up, replaced doors that don't line up with the doorframe and let wind noise in, missing pieces, etc. There is a LOT of detail in body repair, more than most people realize, which is why good work is expensive. The staff at Wasatch Paint and body were very friendly and seemed eager to please when I dropped my car off. This place has first class service. The lady at the front desk and the guy in charge of my car were excellent and kept me informed throughout the repairs, and they took care of all of the details with the other drivers insurance company (who paid for it). The quality of the repairs was first class to match - the impact had damaged the bumper and the unibody frame, but only slightly, causing the trunk not to line up quite right with the surrounding body panels. This problem might have been overlooked at other body shops looking to save the insurance company money - but not at Wasatch. Wasatch fixed everything on my car down to meticulous detail - the alignment of the body panels was perfect, and the paint job was top notch. The unibody frame damage was fixed perfectly as well, and they even did a wheel alignment for good measure. I really could not tell that this vehicle had ever been involved in an accident. All of this left me wondering if the technicians were originally born in a shop and bottle fed Pennzoil - they know how to work magic on your car. The repairs come with a lifetime warranty, so have peace of mind. My great experience here probably explains why I saw several expensive luxury cars around the shop when I stopped by, and even though my ride was not worth a lot of money, I still received the same great service. As someone looking for a body shop, my advice to you is to go someplace like Wasatch who will fix the car properly and completely, since it will help your car retain it's resale value.
