I have lived here for over 4 years and all I can tell you is RUN! Don't walk - run the orther way! They lie in their advertisements - there have been no movies shown for kids for over 2 years. The laundry rooms they claim to provide are shut down, out of order AGAIN - none of the laundry rooms are working! When they sold the property 2 1/2 yrs ago, it has gone downhill ever since. \r Management leaves notices on your door without even knocking with false dates on them! I was right in my apartment and they leave notices inside the door knocker, which you hear if the metal knocker hits the door. At 12 noon on 2/28 there was no notice on my door. But at 5 pm, right when the office is closed, I discovered a notice that they had to quietly sneak up to my door and leave for me not to have heard it being left, informing me that when my lease expires next month, my rent is going up by $60 and a whopping $100 a month increase if I continue to reside here month-to-month! The notice is dated 2/27, even though it was not put in my door until the eve of 2/28. You can believe that is on purpose - that way, since the office is closed Sunday, 3/1, I cannot give 30 day notice to be out when my lease expires 3/31. You can bet I am paying that $100 extra and will vacate this dump at the end of April! There have been neighbors with bedbugs, yet all they do is keep calling the exterminator instead of evicting the people who have repeatedly had bedbugs!!\r While the paid heat is a bargain - there is no insulation and the apartments are freezing, freezing cold! I can actually feel cold air like I am outside if I put my hand at the bottom of my stove!\r Management violates Ohio landlord tenant laws with their bullying of tenants and treating us like we are in prison. A notice left a couple weeks ago that directs us to leave both hot and cold water dripping when it is cold not only is in opposition to reputable sources and common sense that tells you to NEVER leave cold water dripping - that makes your pipes freeze! Not only that, but the way that the notice violates Ohio landlord tenant laws is that it says ""as authorized in the lease, management may be entering apartments to make spot checks."" So they are going to enter your apartment to make spot checks to make sure you have your water dripping?! Ohio landlord tenant laws says they cannot enter a property without a minimum of 24 hour notice unless in emergency. To check whether I am dripping my water is not an emergency. When I first moved here, sidewalks were shoveled - you have to take baby steps to avoid falling on the piled-up snow and ice. Of course the walks and street in front of the office is shoveled though! \r Save your money and avoid the misery that I and other tenants are going through! I have NEVER been late with my rent and this is the way I get treated and the thanks I get from Walnut Glen for being a good tenant! more

This place is terrible. I have been here a year. Moving thankfully since my lease is up. When I first moved in the place was infested with roaches. Took over 3 weeks to convince them to do something. I have put in several work orders since I moved in and only one has been completed. Recently was flooded in my apartment due to maintenance negligence. We go without heat a lot and haven't had hot water for a week now. They don't care if you need heat or hot water, but you better pay your rent on time. Woke up by partying and gun shots often. Not a safe environment at all. I can't wait to get the hell out of here. more

I have lived here over 3 years and cannot wait to get the hell out! They do NOTHING when there is neighbor trouble or if you KNOW who is committing crimes - they tell you to call police! There are lights in front of the apartments that have been out over 2 years & it is VERY dark walking by! A man walked out from between buildings and followed me, yelling Hey! Hey! Come here! Come here! and the faster I walked the faster he walked! I told the office & they told me I should call the police after it happened a 2nd time! So I'm supposed to tell the guy, ""um excuse me, can u stop chasing me a minute while I call the police on you?!"" \r The property was sold 2 years ago and going DOWNHILL every day! Neighbors upstairs from me dump their mopwater over the balcony right onto my patio, ruining my flowers and tomatoes and whatever else I may have on the patio and throw things over the balcony down in my yard to make my yard look trashy, and nothing is done! They have had bedbugs up there, fleas and I KNOW it was them who apparently had roaches a month ago because even though when a building is sprayed they refuse to tell u which apartment the bugs are in, those trashy trifling tenants sit bags of trash in the hall outside their door & leave it there 2-3 days even though they go up & down the steps all day every day! It is FREEZING in here in winter! There is heat loss-if u set thermostat on 72, it will heat to 64 or 66 degrees only and they never clean the vents-the vents are on the ceiling or high on the walls. I suffer from congestion in winter due to soot that I know I'm inhaling! They cleaned all walks and parking lots the first year I moved in - now barely any are cleaned and when it is, its done halfazz. I watched on 2 different occasions when a snow plow was out there and barely had the shovel down. It was more like smoothing the snow and ice down, but definitely not properly shoveling it! All last year, people from other apartments were coming to the pool. Thats because you are supposed to have a pool pass every year and they never even enforced it last year! Tenants who lived here could hardly use the pool because people from other places were in our pool! There are stray cats, which has been an issue since I moved in so you can not walk in the grass unless you want to risk getting fleas!\r They now have new managers AGAIN in the office - I guess they got there last month, who knows? They are so impersonal they never even bothered to send out a notice saying that there would be new managers, what their names are or their positions with the property! \r This place is getting more & more like living in the projects! New tenants have no respect for others entertain all hours of the night and they look younger & younger! Rent goes up every time u sign a lease and sometimes when u don't! All tenants who pay on a month-to-month basis were paying $20 extra a month - no problem. Now these new people in the office who tenants don't even know have ordered that everyone paying month-to-month will pay $50 extra effective immediately!! They advertise in the rent books that there's an outdoor movie theater. The 1st year I was here they showed kiddie movies every Friday evening - they haven't showed movies since the 1st year I was here! I think they showed 1 movie all of last year and none so far this year.\r While the rent ads look enticing-save your money and go somewhere else unless you want to be bothered by poor neighbors that management does nothing about who risk giving u their bedbugs, who just throw things over the balcony, entertain all night and impersonable office people who raise rent yet lessen everything about the property! more

I have lived in Walnut Glen for about 7 years now and I can tell you its terrible here,I have lived in 3 different apts here now a townhome, from ceilings that leak water in your living rooms to other peoples water comming down on you,to the bedbug out break here to falling down gates in the back yards thats been waiting over a year to be replaced one night I woke up about 4 in the morning and their was a guy standing my living room there are drugies here and lots of stealing and on weekends the party people get out here and keep u up all hours of the night,so today i get up no water and mind you dish washer is still waitiing to be fixed and gate for over a year my ceiling is now starting to crack and cave because of where water was comming through my grass here has not been mowed the entire summer even though i have conplained many times about it just like the gate and other issues yeah when you move in you think its cool then comes the boom of the place falling apart looking for new places as we speak cant wait to get the hell out of here! And just so you know the rent goes up every time you redo your lease! more

better than I expected 11/2/2011

Not too shabby! I've been living at Walnut Glen Apartments for about a month now and haven't had any big issues. Considering the price and my budget, this is an exceptional place to live. Management definitely holds an effort to keep up with the large apartment campus. As for the apartments, the walls could be more soundproof. Again, I've heard worse and have no other complaints about my living quarters. I'm pleased with my rent, the people who live around me, and the property/on-campus security. In conclusion, Walnut Glen is definitely a place I'd recommend looking into if you're looking for a low-cost, pet-friendly community with minimal sketchy people. more

Pretty Nice 7/15/2009

I moved in about three months ago, and so far it's been pretty nice. There are things that could be better, but for the price you can't really beat it. Every apartment has some kind of balcony or patio, play areas for the kids, the apartment staff worked with me A LOT to get the place, and the grounds are kept pretty nice. They didn't open one pool this year though (they have two) and don't have a lot of lights at night, and some of the units seem a little ""out dated"" but definatly give them a tour! They alow up to two pets too, as long as you pick up after your dog! Pros: Price Cons: No in unit washer and dryer hook ups more

Worst 1st apartment expierence 12/24/2008

I just moved into Walnut Glen Apartments less then a month ago. This is my first apartment, and I'm expecting a child so for the price & the location, I thought I was getting a good deal. Boy, was I wrong.. I came outside of my apartment this morning to find my car broken into and things stolen. Whoever is responsible stole over 150 worth of Christmas presents, as well as my purse. How awful.. I went immediately to the office to ""speak"" about this situation. I went into the office, and the first question I was asked was ""Is somebody in your life, that would do this?"" I completely flipped out.. That question didn't make the situation any better. After this, the ""main"" lady in the office asked me why I never filed a police report, wtf.. This situation just happened. She offered no compensation, no security around the building. All I kept hearing was I wish there was something we could. Low & behold.. I wish I could pay my rent on January 1st. HORRIBLE EXPIERENCE Pros: Rent, Location, Cons: No securtiy, Parking more
