My name is Cheryl Alexander, I worked in the Fabrics and Crafts department of this store for more than six months. I loved working there. Quit only because my military husband was deployed. The ladies in Fabrics and Crafts are wonderful. The associates in Shoes, Domestics, Ladies Wear, Mens, the Baker, Cashiers, CSM, Cart pushers, wharehouse workers...all associates were very nice and I worked well with them. The meat Department is the finest I've ever seen. My favorite is the Salmon. Fried in a little butter and Zatarains seasons. Yummmmmyyyy. The store is always clean and they have a great team of Maintanence workers that keep the store and the restrooms high quality. As a former employee I highly recomment working their as the respect for associates goes beyond measuring. Their salary is competitive and their benifits are wonderful. I love the deli meats. My favorite is cajun Roast beaf, peppered turkey and the Virginia Ham. You haven't tasted a great PoBoy sandwich until you've tried one of these on a bed of lettuce with tomatoes and pickles. Any bread will do, but I love mixing mayo and mustard and lightly breading it on a fresh hot, just out the oven french bread. (What a nice treat for the entire family.) I'd cut it into slices, wrap them individually. My husband and kids love them. What a perfect finger food for any birthday party, anniversary, baby shower,....etc. I give Supercenter Wal-mart DeRidder the highest recommendation possible.
Pros: great associates (especially Philicia in Garden Center, Manager Ricky, Sandra and Virginia in Fabrics and Crafts
Cons: I wish they offered babysitting so I can work there again. I love Supercenter Wal-Mart DeRidder
