A friend to those with Allergies 1/21/2012

I am delighted with Victor's Deli. My son is allergic to wheat, dairy, soy, corn, pork and other items. As you might guess, eating out isn't something we do often. I wanted to have a special day with my son so we sought out an allergy friendly breakfast restaurant. After speaking with Gorgette, she assured me she would take care of my son and boy did she. We both had omelets and my son had one full of vegetables and meat prepared according to his needs. In fact, Gorgette said she would prepare it herself to ensure it was done right. At the end of breakfast, my son said, "I love Victor's." To all of those who avoid going out due to the pain of dealing with allergies, I highly recommend Victor's Deli. Best Breakfast in North Houston! 8/13/2010

We eat breakfast here all the time. Everything is good! Try their Spanish sauce on any omlet! Heavenly! The staff is very friendly, the service is great. I read one bad review, but we eat there almost once a week, for years, we have never had a bad experience. more

Victor's is GREAT Home cooking type food..... 3/21/2010

Anyone who thinks this place is no good is a SNOB. This place isn't fancy, but the food is fresh and well prepared and absolutely delicious. If you want Meat Loaf or homemade turkey and dressing (year round) or brunch or just a great hamburger, this is your place. The menu is diverse and the people are very nice. TRY IT, YOU"LL LIKE IT! Pros: Everything is FRESH and cooked the way I remember it Cons: Not the best ambiance, but it's clean and that's OK with me more

Great service fun place 4/18/2009

WE really enjoy going to Victor's --it's classic and the owners are delightful. Food is always fresh. There is always a seat, even if you have to wait to be seated for lunch or dinner. Breakfast is my favorite. more

Hostess? 4/2/2009

Did she fall on the waffle iron? People come here to eat waffles....not look at the iron's imprint on your legs. And how about keeping the profanity at home? There is a kids menu, so it is safe to assume that they are welcome at Victor's. She also has short-changed me 2 times. THIEF! Anyone had her wait on them? That is the only thing that she is worse at. I will never return. more

I have eaten here for years. We love this place for breakfast, lunch and dinner! The people are friendly, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. It's a very pretty delicatessen. The food is excellent. We especially love the reubens and the potato salad. We try new things, and always love what we get. more

Place is going Downhill FAST 6/17/2008

The restaurant is dirty, the service is rude and slow and the food portions have been cut in half except the PRICES WENT UP.\r The owner is very unprofessional and Rude. I don't think i will be back again. more

This place is horrible! 5/6/2008

The food is slow, the owner does not care, and the waitress is too busy smoking outside to be bothered. I actually heard the owner say that she is not concerned about complaints because there is no where else on 1960 that you can get the type of food that she serves! The "head waitress" is the worst, and the bathrooms are filthy. Just imagine what the kitchen looks like. more

Great food and family friendly 3/13/2008

I have been to Victor's numerous times and have never been disappointed. I have been to both brunch and lunch. Their breakfast foods are very good and they also have great sandwiches and daily specials. I personally love the eggs benedict, and find it hard to venture off but have sampled many things including the homemade biscuits and gravy which are also very good. It is usually pretty busy (especially on Sundays and lunch time), but I have always experienced good service. Pros: Great brunch Cons: Usually busy-but that's a good sign more

The absolute worst 2/21/2007

I have driven by this place and never been in for years. Now I know why! The waitress was TERRIBLE! It took her forever to get to the table, when she brought my drink, it was in a glass CAKED with grits! Literally adhered to the inside! FILTHY! Any question that I asked was responded to with an eye roll and a condesending tone. My food took way too long, and was not even correct when I got it. The watress never came back, so I could not even attempt to get it corrected. The final insult was when I went to leave, she was OUTSIDE SMOKING! Pros: menu diversity Cons: WAITRESS more

Great place 7/30/2002

This is a great place to eat. Everything we have tried there has been just great. They have a wonderful breakfast also. This is the type of place I remember as a child some 50 years ago when the food and service is just right. Everything from meatloaf to burgers to salad to deli type sandwiches are wonderful.
